What a first visit ! We bought a 2017 Outback thru Craigslist last week. Brought it into Tucson Subaru today to get lube, oil, filter and checked over. The service rep, Jesse, did a good job, touched all the bases without trying to oversell unnecessary work. Personable and knowledgeable. We asked about an extended service warranty so Jesse took us over to see Traci in Finance. She did a very credible job of showing us our options and pricing. The level we chose was a couple of hundred dollars less that what we found online. Traci took us over to see the lady who schedules the regularly scheduled classes to help new car owners learn all the features. We're welcome even though we didn't buy the car there. Also, introduced us to Darla, the New Vehicle Delivery Specialist. She's also the new car tech guru and is open to our questions, once we figure out what they are. Finally, the car we bought had a broken tail light and some broken plastic on one of the rear view mirrors. Will, in Parts, was all over it. He volunteered to put my box in the car, out in service. Turns out, while he was out there, he went ahead and installed the tail light and popped the new plastic on the mirror. Something I could have done, but way thoughtful of him. So, now, because of all this great treatment, we're pretty well trapped into revisiting this dealership for our service needs. I've heard good things about them from others, thought it was just part of the Subaru cult thing, but it turns out it's true. Oh, yea. We were in a few weeks ago and looked at and drove a couple of models, new and used. Dealt with Jack McVey. Today, he noticed our name on a list of service appointments, came to find us and congratulate us on acquiring an Outback even though he didn't make the sale. He'd be a good one to look up if you're visiting to look at cars. Low key, no BS. Finally ... the coffee is great. More

Excellent experience, Forester purchase I have been researching new cars for a while, and had narrowed it down to Subaru's Forester or Crosstrek, Toyota's Rav 4, and Honda's CRV. I had full I have been researching new cars for a while, and had narrowed it down to Subaru's Forester or Crosstrek, Toyota's Rav 4, and Honda's CRV. I had fully intended to purchase something used from a private seller because I had heard horror stories about dealerships. A close friend recommended that I go to Tucson Subaru because he and his wife had recently purchased an Outback from there. In his words, "Rocky runs a class act." So, being brave, I contacted the dealership through their website to set up an appointment. Kevin Gribble emailed me within a couple of hours to set something up for the following morning. Upon arriving at Tucson Subaru, I was impressed by how friendly everyone was. Kevin's first question wasn't "what kind of car are you interested in," but "What types of things are you looking for?" I told him that I was intrigued by the Crosstrek and Forester, and that I was looking for something I could easily take off road, with room for outdoor toys (I'm a rockclimber/backpacker), but also something that my mother, who's getting up there in years, would have an easier time getting into an out of. Kevin's immediate response was something to the effect of, "I think you're going to prefer the forester, but let's look at both." He did a wonderful job answering all of my questions and showing me both models. We took the Forester out for a test drive first. It was great. He suggested I also try the Crosstrek. Within a block of driving that model, I told him he was right. During both test drives, Kevin did an equally wonderful job explaining all of the features included with each model. At some point, we started talking about the CVT transmission. When I told him that I grew up working on cars, he transitioned from giving me a basic description to talking about, literally, the nuts and bolts of the CVT. Throughout the process, he was focused on what features I needed and would ultimately use, and I never once felt like he was pressuring me into purchasing a more expensive vehicle or option package. Traci Roberts was equally awesome to deal with on the financial side of things. She did a great job explaining different warranties, etc., and pointed out options that I likely would not need. She took time to ask me about my work, and we swapped entertaining war stories about our work in the criminal justice field. As I was leaving, I commented about how my experience with Tucson Subaru was not at all what I was expecting considering all of the dealership horror stories we hear about. Traci grinned and said something to the effect of, "Yeah, we try not to be "that" dealership, cuz it ain't as much fun as treating folks the right way." So, to sum it up, I would purchase another car from this dealership in a heartbeat. As yet, I've had no experience with their service department. However, if the folks there are anything like the folks on the other side of the house, I'm sure it will be an equally pleasant experience. More
