Overall, the transaction was OK. On our first extended trip with the car, three days after purchase, we discovered squeaking from the back wheels, which indicted likely need to repla On our first extended trip with the car, three days after purchase, we discovered squeaking from the back wheels, which indicted likely need to replace wheel bearings. I feel this is something that should have been detected in the multiple-point test touted in the dealer's marketing. Because we hadn't opted for an extended warranty, I was told there was nothing Handy was prepared to offer to address the problem. I believe a correct approach would have been for Handy to stand behind their claim to have thoroughly inspected the car and offer some kind of deal to address the wheel bearing issue, like offering to pay for labor costs or splitting the cost of the repair. I left a message for Jason(?) in the service department about the issue and did not receive a reply. Tristan, our sales person was respectful and nice. He stayed well after hours on the sales day, which I appreciated. He's young and is still learning the ropes. There were several points in the discussion where he had to consult with others on the Handy team to get answers to questions I had. The biggest problem was regarding the financing. We were preapproved for a loan with USAA, but I was interested in getting a quote from Handy's financing partner, North Country Credit Union. This took a long time. When completed, I was told I was approved for a loan and the paperwork was ready for me to sign. I had only asked for a quote, so this was a misstep. Fortunately, the North Country Credit Union lending rate was significantly lower than USAA, so I went ahead with financing from them. The spiel from Nick was smooth and well-practiced, but very long and unnecessary in my case as I wasn't going to opt for the options described. I understand that he's obliged by upper management to go through this. A final point is that I drove from some distance to the dealership in my EV. It would have been helpful to have had access to a Level 2 charger while we were conducting the transaction. Having an charger might encourage people travel greater distances in their EVs to get to the dealership. Plus, it's becoming a standard courtesy for dealerships and repair shops to offer charging to customers. More
