I was in the market for a used Forester to replace my 12 year old version of the same and originally looked at businesses that are known for haggle-free, fair pricing, etc. For the sake of comparison my husband looked at the Certified Pre-Owned inventory at Cherry Hill Subaru and found a vehicle with extremely low mileage and similar in price to what we were seeing on the other sites, but with a third of the mileage.
The car was great, in stunning condition for being used, and the hardest part of the sales process was navigating the torrential downpour that started right after I arrived to the dealership. Not wanting to waste the trip, I asked to see the vehicle regardless, not realizing that our sales rep, Mark Haltzman, was going to have to walk multiple blocks through the rain to retrieve the car. He was absolutely soaked through when he returned but was patient as I looked over the vehicle (dry inside the service building) and waited out the worst of the rain to go through a test drive. And what an adventure that was, navigating around flooding and closed roads!
When it came to financing, I secured a loan with a good rate through my credit union, and Mark said “what if we can beat that rate for you?” I was highly doubtful, but the staff at Subaru Cherry Hill managed to secure me an extra 0.10% rate deduction by using their financing.
For my trade in, they offered me close to $400 over the average trade in value for a car in my condition, and it really felt like I was given a fair assessment.
Everything was moving along smoothly until it came time for us to add the new (to us) vehicle to our insurance policy. My husband was on hold for over 45 minutes with no end in sight (probably due to a high volume of damaged vehicles from the 3 straight days of intense storms), until Mark came up with a creative solution to get us out the door.
As much as I hate buying cars, the staff at Subaru Cherry Hill did everything they could to make the process as easy as possible. I am grateful to Mark for being willing to help me despite the intense rain, and for staying well past the end of his day to see the process through. I would definitely consider buying a car from him again!
