Issue after issue with the dealer and the brand On June 12th I bought my car (2019 Acura RDX) in for a regular oil change when I was told that there was a fuel pump recall where the car could lose a On June 12th I bought my car (2019 Acura RDX) in for a regular oil change when I was told that there was a fuel pump recall where the car could lose all acceleration while driving. I gave the go ahead to replace the fuel pump as I was driving for a long trip the next week. On June 20th I was driving down highway i70 about 100 miles outside of St Louis when my car lost all acceleration and the panel lit up like a Christmas tree giving me transmission, steering, battery etc errors. I was lucky to be able to get my car to the side of the highway without an accident. My car wouldn't restart, wouldn't move out of gear, etc so I had to have it towed the last part of the trip to a dealership in Manchester, MO. This left me stranded for two days in Missouri where i had to come out of pocket for a bunch of expenses. When the dealership took a look they said it wasn't the replaced fuel pump but the mmwave radar for cruise control had a fault and it can apparently just kill your car completely while you are driving it. Why there hasn't been a recall I'm not sure. So this dealership cleared all the codes, replaced my battery and just told me to drive it back without using cruise control and get the radar replaced in CO. They and I had notified Courtesy of the issue and what needed to be done. On June 30th 8:30 am I brought my car in to be serviced and have everything checked out as well as the part replaced. They told me they should be able to knock it out quickly. They gave me a loaner car which already had a service light on but since I didn't think I'd be driving it long so I didn't see an issue. Well the first day went by without a call or update. I called and left a message and when they got back to me they were confused as they didn't think it was the radar that was the issue. Then I guess it was the radar and the ordered the wrong part so had to wait for that part. Well that part came yesterday July 2nd and they still didn't fix my car and didn't make it a priority to do so today. I had to go pick up my car without any fix because I have a trip coming up where I need to drive a bit and didn't want to have something go wrong with the loaner as the service light was already on. I didn't want to get blamed for "damaging" their loaner. So they had my car for three days, didn't prioritize getting it fixed and when I asked why it wasn't fixed this morning (July 3rd) the answer was they just hadn't gotten to it. So this dealership sold me a car with an extremely dangerous defect that can cause an accident and can't be bothered to fix it. I've had a ticket open with Acura (corporate) about this for over a week with no response and they don't answer the phone right now. I'd say buyer beware here around Acura and especially this dealership. More
