OUR HISTORY
Walt DeBoer founded Lithia Motors in 1946 as a Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge dealership in Ashland, Oregon. Following Walt’s death in 1968, Walt’s son Sid along with Dick Heimann, grew the business to include 5 stores and 19 franchises in Southern Oregon. In December 1996, this collection of dealerships was transformed into Lithia Motors, Inc., a publicly traded company (NYSE stock symbol-LAD). We envisioned a company that would continuously grow, provide great customer service, and opportunities for employees.
TODAY
Lithia is one of America’s largest automotive retailers featuring most domestic and import franchises. Our stores serve urban and rural populations throughout the Western and Midwest United States.
We are focused on providing customers with an honest and simpler buying and service experience. We are giving customers straightforward information so that they can make confident decisions.
We believe that our local communities are our lifeblood. In addition to the employment opportunities we provide in each of our neighborhoods, we also provide contributions to charitable organizations that serve our families, friends, and customers.

There’s only one thing I need to say is you guys took my down payment but paperwork that I signed I didn’t get any copies at all so I think I should need copies. I might be wrong. Charged me $5000. 00 over original MSRP. Hid the original price from me. Would not work with me on price at all. One of the sales managers lied to me about adding acce 00 over original MSRP. Wouldn’t stop trying to talk me into extended warranty. Tried to make me feel stupid for not accepting it. I would never buy from them again. More

Good selection of cars on the lot. Friendly knowledgeable sales person. Willing to wait with us past closing time on a Sunday to close our deal. Typical non-transperant car sales negotiations took a couple of hours. We were clear regarding the price we were willing to pay and clear as to our target financial cost. Still took multiple iterative offers on each side to get to our final price. Then after the sale, communication was disappointing and frustrating in scheduling a return visit for promised detailing and additional features installation. Would still recommend, but service was not outstanding. More
