Eros Cruz the sales contact was super helpful and efficient, scheduled the whole thing through texts in advance making it fully contactless. The drop-off was super easy, they call a Lyft for you as part of the service and picking up the car was also great, and safe, they also clean the car. It is our first Mazda, we could not have been more pleased with the service

I would like to pass my sincere appreciation to Hodges Mazda and to their service department. I have a 2015 Mazda 6 whose wheels were becoming extremely discolored with the chrome coating peeling off. It looked bad. Bryan Hagan took it upon himself to work with Mazda corporation to provide an extended warranttee offer that resulted in Mazda stripping and applying a new powder coating to the wheels. Another Service manager stated (wish I could remember his name) I could change the color from chrome to either gloss black or gray. His suggestion was to go with the gloss black that I went with.
Outstanding option and decision. The wheels look great and the car looks even sportier than ever. I was offered a loaner car to boot during the processing.
Great service that I really appreciate that in all honesty goes beyond 5 stars. I could not have asked for anything better.

Service department and technicians are either grossly incompetent or intentionally ripping people off. I have done all of my service there on time plus extra services as they provide them. My year old car’s start button started flashing. When I brought it in for service they tore apart my dash to inspect the start button itself and determined it failed because of my e cigarette therefore saying it isn’t covered under warranty and I have to pay for their labor to diagnose the flashing light. They offered to replace it for a charge of more than $300. A quick google search showed that start button flashes when there’s inadequate power to the vehicle (battery or alternator failure). They assured me that my battery was perfect (after they put it on the charger I found out later). I let it go knowing my battery was most likely going to quit on me. Sure enough a month and a half later I am calling road side assistance to jump me. I went to the auto parts store to get a new battery to get to work and after replacing the battery ...THE START BUTTON STOPPED FLASHING!!!! The battery was swollen and leaking from the acid cap. Imagine that. On top of that they had the audacity to tell me I should have brought it to them because my battery was covered under warranty and they can’t reimburse me nor would they reimburse me for the improper diagnosis of e-cigarette killed your new car. Trae (the service advisor) smirked as he said “well you should have brought it in to us instead”. Now I will be doing my own service instead paying $100 for an oil change at a business that goes out of its way not to honor the manufacture or their own “lifetime” warranty.

Very Disappointing - NICOLEANDTONY
So my "check engine" light came on a few days ago. I did the usual, check the gas cap etc... Light was still on after two days so I scheduled to have it checked out. Made an appointment and as I arrived, the light went out. I should have followed my instincts and left right then and there, but since my wife is the primary driver of the vehicle, I cautioned on the side of safety, and had the diagnostic service done on the vehicle (2017 Mazda CX-9). No error codes were found, but was told I needed an "ECM (Electronic Control Module) update" which is basically the computer that manages the vehicle's systems. I was wary, but I was there, and again I chose to err on the side of caution, and agreed to the $270 fee for the service.
A bit later I was advised that my A/C filter (cabin air filter) needed replacing. I found that odd because 3 weeks earlier, I replaced the cabin air filter myself with a K&N reusable filter. So the advisor, knowing he was caught says "Maybe its the engine air filter." I said "Can't be because I also replaced that with a K&N reusable filter." Noticing he had nothing else, the advisor says "Maybe I was looking at the wrong car." and then says "I should have you out shortly." Had they actually taken the time to check what they advised needed replacement, they would have noticed a big K&N sticker that reads "STOP, THIS FILTER IS REUSABLE. DO NOT DISCARD!"
After today's experience, I will never go back to Gunther Mazda for service. They have lost my trust in the service department after what I was advised of at this visit. I guess it goes to show you, that the mighty dollar is more important than earning customer trust and keeping customer loyalty.

Joel at Mazda in Orange Park is amazing. This is my 4th Mazda purchased (last 2 from Joel). He exceeded all my expectations and more. He is the only one I truly trust when needing to buy or lease a Mazda. Usually when getting a car it takes lots of homework and shopping around to make sure there is not a better deal. I have learned that when I go to Joel and explain everything I want he does everything in his power to make it happen. No surprises. It is a pleasure not having to go and make sure I can’t get a better deal! No games, no pressure, and communication skills are excellent. I can’t say enough about Joel and the manager of Mazda in OP. I can only say if you are looking for a car go directly to Mazda of OP. You will feel good with your purchase/lease and not feel like another dealership would have done a better deal. Only he changed my outlook on car sales people and as long as he is around I will only deal with him. The key is to leave and feel good about your purchase and he makes sure that happens. Talk about great service, my 19 year old daughter locked her keys in the trunk, I was 2 hours away and she was panicked, it was Sunday so service was closed, I was lucky enough to speak with Tim Bundrick in sales, he was helpful and empathetic, he went above and beyond to send me a YouTube video that allowed us to retrieve the keys from the trunk, totally saved the day!
