Hello, my name is Ed Emerson and I have been with the McKamey family for 31 years. My hometown is Chattanooga. I started in Sales in June 1990, and I am also 2nd generation, being that my Father was here for over 18 years. I currently hold the position of General Manager for Lexus and have enjoyed meeting customers that have turned in to family! I would like to invite everyone to come see us and become a part of our family here at Lexus of Chattanooga.

As we have explained in all previous survey's that you have sent thus far, we have many loyal customers who have done business with our store for many years, and trust us to always do the right thing. I have worked for Lexus of Chattanooga for over 31 years, and that has allowed me to personally sell vehicles to what began as a first, and resulted in exponential repeat business, some being siblings. You purchased a Certified Lexus RX350 that has one of the highest resale values of any vehicle built. I think anyone who has kept up with the current market, which is unlike anything that we've ever encountered in the automobile industry, will agree that the Preowned market is at an all time high. That means that customers are sometimes getting more than they paid for their vehicles vs when bought new! We, as a dealer, are having to pay those prices when acquisition takes place whether it be a trade, or purchased at auction. We also certify every preowned vehicle that can be, and the added value on average is $2000 for a vehicle that's Certified. Yours was Certified. We never realized that you felt pressured. It took three days to complete the deal, and, we delivered it to you off site, which allowed you ample time to re-evaluate your decision. The initial DealerRater review that you gave was a "5" star and had nothing but good to say about our staff and facility. I must admit that leaves me somewhat confused. I can assure both you, and anyone who might consider doing business with Lexus of Chattanooga, that our integrity will never be compromised when any transaction is taking place. We have answered both Lexus Corporate and BBB. They found no wrong doing. I am very sorry that you feel the way you do. That is NEVER our intention! Thank you for listening. Below is a piece that was in Car & Driver magazine that hopefully will help to explain. -The average price for a used car hit $27,000 in November and is now already up to $27,500, according to Black Book. -You can probably guess the reasons for the increase: a limited supply of new cars means more attention is focused on used cars, and higher prices come with higher demand. -The average used car costs around 35 percent more today than it did at the beginning of 2021. We have all heard about prices rising for groceries and new cars, but don't think used cars have been left out of the race. Whether it's a 27 percent rise in the Philadelphia area, almost 28 percent in Utah or a 25 percent increase in Chattanooga, the numbers are going up. Analysis of retail listings and sold data done by Black Book, a Hearst company, found that the average sold price for a used car crossed $27,000 in early November and currently sits at just over $27,500. Black Book's data covers both franchise and independent dealers and contains more than 95 percent of all available used vehicles for sale. (Car & Driver Magazine)
