OUR HISTORY
Walt DeBoer founded Lithia Motors in 1946 as a Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge dealership in Ashland, Oregon. Following Walt’s death in 1968, Walt’s son Sid along with Dick Heimann, grew the business to include 5 stores and 19 franchises in Southern Oregon. In December 1996, this collection of dealerships was transformed into Lithia Motors, Inc., a publicly traded company (NYSE stock symbol-LAD). We envisioned a company that would continuously grow, provide great customer service, and opportunities for employees.
TODAY
Lithia is one of America’s largest automotive retailers featuring most domestic and import franchises. Our stores serve urban and rural populations throughout the Western and Midwest United States.
We are focused on providing customers with an honest and simpler buying and service experience. We are giving customers straightforward information so that they can make confident decisions.
We believe that our local communities are our lifeblood. In addition to the employment opportunities we provide in each of our neighborhoods, we also provide contributions to charitable organizations that serve our families, friends, and customers.

I purchased my car in November 2022. Ryan F and Erick were GREAT! I had asked for a couple of 'extras' - a second set of keys and new wipers (one was torn) and I have received both with a smile. Holly was super pleasant and personable and above all very easy to work with. We feel quite fortunate to have walked in when we did and to have had the pleasure to have her helping us. We showed up knowing what we were looking for and what we were willing to pay for it and she gave us very streamlined and efficient assistance with our purchase. No high-pressure redirection or overbearing sales tactics. (Those were all saved for the finance guy, who was also very nice, albeit disappointed that we weren't biting on his pitch for the extended warranty for another 20% over the purchase price.) Steve the manager was also accommodating and overall we left feeling really good about our experience and our new vehicle. Would highly recommend working with these people. Call ahead and ask for Holly for a truly enjoyable and human interaction! More
