OUR HISTORY
Walt DeBoer founded Lithia Motors in 1946 as a Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge dealership in Ashland, Oregon. Following Walt’s death in 1968, Walt’s son Sid along with Dick Heimann, grew the business to include 5 stores and 19 franchises in Southern Oregon. In December 1996, this collection of dealerships was transformed into Lithia Motors, Inc., a publicly traded company (NYSE stock symbol-LAD). We envisioned a company that would continuously grow, provide great customer service, and opportunities for employees.
TODAY
Lithia is one of America’s largest automotive retailers featuring most domestic and import franchises. Our stores serve urban and rural populations throughout the Western and Midwest United States.
We are focused on providing customers with an honest and simpler buying and service experience. We are giving customers straightforward information so that they can make confident decisions.
We believe that our local communities are our lifeblood. In addition to the employment opportunities we provide in each of our neighborhoods, we also provide contributions to charitable organizations that serve our families, friends, and customers.

My daughter and I went here to find her a safe, reliable, all wheel drive vehicle within her budget. She ended up deciding on a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe. They clearly state everywhere that these used cars are all wheel drive vehicle within her budget. She ended up deciding on a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe. They clearly state everywhere that these used cars are fully inspected, but this was an "as is" purchase. I understand THAT, on the assumption that if there was actually anything seriously wrong with the vehicle it would have been taken care of or disclosed, because their website states that ALL of their used cars are fully inspected, tested, and certified safe and ensure they are reliable, safe, and affordable. So, that evening of the purchase, my daughter is on the freeway and starts feeling the steering wheel vibrate and the car swaying to the right with any little bump in the road. We take it to a tire shop the next morning and they inform us that the front struts are bad and leaking. Lithia service looks it over again and says there is nothing wrong with the car. We take it to another tire shop and they too confirm that the front struts are bad/leaking and also share that the control arm is dangerously bad and needs to be replaced. Now, Lithia Hyundai is only offering to do an alignment on the vehicle. I don't understand why such a large dealership would be so shady with these transactions and not care one bit about their customers! More
