After months of looking around for a new Chevy truck and dealing with/walking away from high-pressure rude sales people, I was lucky to find Jim Doran Chevrolet, Subaru in McMinnville. The most pleasant experience I have ever had with a car dealership! Good old-fashion small town feel to how this dealership handles their customers. I was treated with respect and they actually listened to the specifics of what I was looking for instead of trying to sell me something they were in a hurry to unload off their lot like I experienced with the other dealerships. I ended up ordering the specific truck I wanted through them. There was no pressure from the time I first walked through their doors through test drive to price negotiation and final purchase. Not only was Sales Consultant Lucas Simpson prompt and helpful in responding to questions through email and phone calls, he went above and beyond in keeping me updated about the delivery status of the truck I ordered. He even took the time to make sure I knew what every button in the cab was for and how it worked since I am a bit challenged when it comes to the new technology that comes with vehicles these days. When the truck finally arrived, manager Steve Thompson made the purchase paperwork process literally painless, very quick and simple. Two days after I drove my truck home, Lucas checked in to see if I had any questions or concerns and how I liked the truck so far. In all my dealings with this dealership both before and after the purchase I cannot find anything negative to say about them and would recommend them to anyone looking for a new or used car. When I am in the market for a new or used vehicle in the future, this is the dealership I am going to purchase from again. Bought my new Travers from them, brought back for warranty service power steering start acting at 5K, but they keep lying and won't fix a problem, also one seat got stuck and they told me that's how it should be, had to come back second time to prove they are wrong, than they fixed a seat but gave me paperwork saying that there is nothing wrong with a seat, while working on seat they pulled plastic cover off and left it laying there

We got almost to the end of the buying process and this was our second visit to look at a used Honda Pilot. We asked several times if the car was in an accident and they always said "no." Finally in the midst of 20+ signatures a paper appears that says something about full disclosure and a list of repairs done. Things like front hood, passenger right door, driver right door, front radiator mount, front bumper. Pretty obvious to us that the car was in an accident. Three different people there denied it and finally the finance guy said "we don't know, it could have been involved in an altercation." I said that sounds like an accident to me. They continued to deny it. When I asked why they would need to replace the hood they said "maybe someone sat on it, maybe rock chips." I said oh yeah I bet the hood hinges were bad and he shook his head and said yup most likely.
So after some research and a chat with Beaverton Honda where we did end up buying our used 2014 Pilot, we learned that they most likely bought the car on auction with the damage and then did all the repairs and put it on their lot. Carfax we learned would not catch the accident since it was purchased from an auction.
They wasted 2+ hours of our time and the experience was horrible. It really felt like the slimy used car salesman trick to slip in the "disclosure" form in the midst of all the other important signatures. They knew exactly what they were doing here and I could tell something was up by their nervous behavior leading up to the paper being slipped in.
Do not even step foot on their car lot and stay away from Jesus Martinez the salesman that claims he had no idea about the "disclosure."

I decided to quit making excuses and finally face the fact that the time had come to do the dreaded deed of car shop!!!! Well it used to be a dreaded deed until fate should have it I stop over at Bruce Chevrolet and meet Gary Valentic..... I must say that I have purchased a number of new vehicles in my time from all different dealerships, and never have enjoyed the experience as a whole until I came to this dealership... Gary made this the easiest experience I've ever had.... Straight forward, no haggle, honest pricing, and none of the typical hidden fees for splash guards, or $ 400 floor mats that I needed to pay for!!!! Just nice friendly, knowledgeable folks at a good honest Dealership!!! Thanks Gary, and thanks Bruce Chevrolet I'll be back for the next one!!!
Deceitful - Deceived
My wife and I traveled 2.5 hours to Madras to consummate a purchase of a pre-owned vehicle. We'd been communicating for days with salesperson Jim Angel and had price, trade-in, etc. determined. Essentially, it was a matter of us looking at the car we wanted to purchase and them looking at our trade-in. If everything checked out, it was a deal.
For some reason, this salesman didn't bother to make sure at least two sets of the key & fob were available - and didn't even mention it until the paperwork was done and we were about to leave. Then, he came up with a story about the second key & fob being at the dealership's owner's (Gary Gruner) house because his wife had been driving this vehicle (yeah, that's a good business practice).
Jim Angel said he'd obtain the key & fob and mail them to us. He never has. He has changed his story re: when he sent them and kept stalling - "Let's wait a little longer to see if they get there." It has been almost 20 days.
He quit responding to our e-mails so we tried the dealership's online e-mail system to see if someone else would assist us. I communicated by e-mail and phone with Kristina Sherwin, the so-called "Certified Internet Manager," who assured me that she'd solve the issue for me. Never heard from her again.
I sent an e-mail to the owner Gary Gruner who apologized for the "run around" and "would personally see to it a new key and fob are sent to you." Yet after several more days, nothing has arrived and now he isn't responding.
I'm not sure how locals are treated, but clearly the people at this dealership figure that screwing out of towners is okay. They probably believe it was a fluke we came 2.5 hours to buy a car from them and are unlikely to be repeat customers. But, maybe this is how they treat everyone.
My advice, don't trust the folks at Gary Gruner Chevrolet GMC Buick. Take your business elsewhere.

Chris Briggs was our man he guided us to the right car based on the parameters we gave him. No pressure easy going very helpful great experience!
