My wife and I came to look at a particular pre-owned car and had an appointment with Ruben. While he was finishing up with another customer, another Capitol employee asked us if we needed anything and brought us water. He (and others I noticed) were very friendly and customer service oriented. Ruben showed us the features of the car and answered our questions. After we test drove it, we came to an agreement in a very short period of time with the assistance of Mike the Sales Manager. While waiting for the Finance Manager (Fran), Ruben visited with us and made us feel like family. Fran explained everything to our satisfaction and it ended up being a very efficient and pleasant car buying experience. This is the way car buying should be!

Took my 2020 Silverado to Gary Gruner to have a switch replaced and computer recalibrated after another dealership put oversized tires on the truck and failed to recalibrate the computer. The service manager, Tony Denny said the software that to be downloaded from GM to recalibrate the computer. After about 5 hours, Tony told me it might be awhile and gave me a loaner car and asked me to come back the next day. The download took 24 hours. Tony apologized for the delay and discounted the fee for the recalibration. The switch was replaced and I was on the road. This service is what I expected from a dealership and will continue to give them my business.

Found the car we wanted and there was a chip in the front windshield he said we’ll replace it and they did the service was fast and great! Sweet as pie on the phone, but no help when you arrive there. The clerks clearly are more interested in chatting with each other than actually deigning to speak to you, and then immediately want to hand you off to some one else. Why is there no one person to specifically greet and direct people? It's customer service 101. Hope you have lots of time to waste; this is a business that is more than happy to keep you waiting.

Easy experience from start to finish. Riley does the online sales and I found just the car I was looking for at a great price in their adorable small town. He took care of all my questions, gave me a quote on my trade in and even arranged some add on’s to be done in the three days between my decision to purchase and pick up. I have to say, This is such a down to earth and straight forward crew to work with. Riley was super helpful from beginning to end. Jake helped with all the paperwork and was also super kind and personable. You can’t go wrong with these guys. Make a day of it and go to the towns giant vintage mall, grab a bite to eat, sit by the river, and then enjoy the drive home in your new car!

Incompetent and Uncaring
I brought in my Yaris in September because it was squealing horribly under very specific circumstances, and the serpentine belt had already been replaced. After only an hour, they said I needed a new skid plate and sent me home to wait for the part. It arrived and was installed, and I assumed everything was fine. But the noise never really went away. Then it started getting worse. So I took my car back, only to find out that now I needed to replace a $900 part, something that could have been avoided if they did their jobs the first time. On top of that, they tried to charge me a diagnostic fee for my second visit. I’ve driven 500+ miles since the repair and the car still squeals when I turn it on, but I’ll be going to any other dealership to get it fixed. That’s how I found this page.

Extremely poor customer service and integrity. I had my Chevy Malibu diagnosed(which I had to pay for) for a noise coming out my engine back in December 2018. They stated that the noise was my belt tensioner so I decided to replace it on my own rather than having the dealership "repair" it. After I replace the tensioner (at my own expense and time) the same noise persisted. I went back to the Sherrell and very politely asked for a solution to the problem since I had already invested enough money and the service of diagnosing my car was NOT CORRECT. Not only was the service representative negligent about providing me with a fair solution, but the main manager didn't give me an apology for the wrong diagnostic. he didn't offer/ want to refund my money rather he was heavily pointing out that I leave my car so they can re-diagnosed it for free but at no point in time I was going to get a refund for my original diagnostics. This is extremely frustrating to me, the consumer, has to deal with an ongoing car liability (it was not the first time a Chevy dealer misdiagnosed my car for the same noise and this is the reason I went to Sherrell) situation that no Chevy dealer has been able to resolve. My daughter took her car in for a repair. They diagnosed it as a bad purge valve. That's a $40 part (full retail) that installs in a few minutes with no tools. Internet sites say that the repair should cost $150 at the most. Tonkin's quote was $300. They also told my daughter that her 2018 Sonic with 50,000 miles on it needed 1) new spark plugs, 2) a fuel injector flush, 3) a brake system flush, 4) and a cabin air filter. All told, an additional $700 for ridiculous and unnecessary "repairs". We paid the $150 diagnostic fee and took the car home. I bought a purge valve for $20 on Amazon, watched a U-tube video, then changed it out in 5 minutes with no tools needed. They thought that my daughter was a sucker and tried to put it to her.
