I would like to thank Xavier T for assisting me in finding my new GMC Terrain 2.0 turbo that I upgraded from my previous 2019 model after it was totaled in an accident. That was a terrible life event/experience and Xavier worked with me to find what I was looking for and I am very pleased with his efforts, professionalism, and care and commitment to me and coming to an agreeable price.
James Cristos, wonderful to deal with - Terry Graber
I live a 3 hour drive away from the dealer...I have a physical problem that makes a drive like that almost impossible. James Cristos was willing to drive the car I wanted TO ME! I had been looking for a vehicle that was comfortable for me to ride in for 3 months, visiting many dealers and trying countless number of makes and models. Although I found something before he could help me, I would highly recommend him. He was always available to answer questions and very patient.
Very Impressed - bigcity
The service department is second to none. I had a major issue come up with my vehicle just outside of warranty. Johnson Motor Company was able to repair my truck the same day I brought it in even though the part required was on national back order. The best part, they were able to convince GM to cover the repair even though my vehicle was 7,000 miles outside of my preowned warranty. Very impressed!
1 star is too many for this situation. Spare yourself the... - wen.db23
1 star is too many for this situation. Spare yourself the headache! Sat. May 30, 2020: REGRETTABLY purchased a 2013 Audi w/only 73+k miles on it from GMC store. 4 days later reading manual, familiarizing myself w/vehicle..I realized the MMI is showing a reading of low or no oil. Dropped everything, took it immediately to Jim Hudson Audi service dept. (they had the car before I had it transferred across the street to GMC store & made purchase). Car was VERY low on oil. Oil was topped off.
Obviously never checked when they took vehicle in on trade.
2 weeks later took back to Audi service dept as to why MMI dropping so rapidly & was told that vehicle may need a 2 phase OCT (oil compression test) if came back unfavorably- the car would need the pistons changed for an $8500 repair bill. Oh No Thank You!!!
2 days later after asking for dealership to buy car back, used car manager insisted on doing OCT. It was started. Was told to drive it 600 miles by 1 person, 1000 miles by another, & until the oil light comes on by a 3rd person. Quite a difference in range there. A week ago oil light came on. So...After owning car less than 3 months, driving it under 1,700 miles, the oil has been topped off a few times AND the oil light has come on. Took in to have OCT completed in morning 2 days ago. YEP- you guessed it- needs pistons changed.
During all of this I told the dealership numerous times that I wanted the car to be bought back. They can deal w/this nightmare. Was told 2 days ago would hear something re:plan of action. Never heard anything. Called & used car manager had not been informed of anything. He was confused as he always is every time I speak with him & get different answers/stories. Again, stated I want car bought back. He said that Audi was paying for repairs. I said no they are not, per our conversation July 8th. He states confusion as to why was OCT done then? Well you tell me. YOU were the one who insisted it be done as you didn't want to purchase the car back. Said he would make calls & lmk what was to happen. Hmmm...nearly 66 hours later, even after emailing internet sales manager & GM yesterday morning, not a peep. Not even to reach out & say hey we hear you, we want to make this right. They do not care. They are ignoring me. They sold a bad car! They know it!
Also had previously inquired w/Jim Hudson Ford about a used Sierra. Was given details, price, fee breakdown & asked to schedule time to come see it. Asked if it had a sunroof. They said they would check & also send me pics of truck. Didn't hear anything for a few days. Finally got email stating truck can't be sold to public due to transmission issues. Gee- obviously the Sierra, like the Audi, wasn't checked over either BEFORE listing on internet. After they said the truck couldn't be sold, they reached out a couple weeks later asking if I received the info, was I still interested, & that they have tried to reach me numerous times. Ok. Been communicating thru email whole time. Last time- YOU told me truck wasn't fit for sale to public. Good grief!
What does their commercial say? You got it! Experienced them twice & will not forget but not in a positive way at all.
Replacement of fuel pump - Preston
On vacation, had fuel pump replaced here. Very good service for the replacement. Left on our return trip home. Had issues filling up with gas. This continued for 3 week and got worst. Fuel tank was pulled by our local service dealer. They found fuel line was damaged during Hyatt's replacement of fuel pump causing a crimp in the line. Actually returned the fuel line to Jeff, the service manager, on our next visit to Myrtle Beach. He stated there should be reimbursement of the cost of the replacement line they damaged. A copy of invoice, pictures, and fuel line was left with Jeff. To date after many phone calls to Jeff, we have not received the courtesy of even a return call. We are a life-long customer of GMC for over 40 years.
Drove down from Charlotte to buy a Camaro SS found it to... - watson.nickolas98
Drove down from Charlotte to buy a Camaro SS found it to not be on the lot because one of the managers is driving it like it’s a rental and he had it at his house. Guy wouldn’t sell the car to me because the manager had “plans” to buy the Camaro despite the fact that it was listed for sale and I was a ready buyer.

Terrible Service Department Incompetent - amcook1064
Brought truck for diagnosis. Was misdiagnosed, insisted NEW fuel pump was ban and if it infact was then their replacement ($830 later) should have fixed it. They bad mouthed my mechanic stated it was wired wrong. Again, their repair should have fixed it then. Was towed back from them 3 months they had it with still the same NO START electrical issue. R&R Automotive fixed it! A fuse, new xxx wire from BCM to Fuse box and new battery as computer tested it as weak so even though cranking, battery too weak. So A wire A fuse and Battery. Complained to Mr Prothro about this as well as how obnoxious Mr Epps is. Per Mr Prothro he states Mr Epps in "CONTACEROUS" and I guess that's part of the job description as he okay with it. BEWARE
Deceptive Practices - Radiantredhead
I had been texting and calling Damian from their Internet sales team. I told him the car I want and where it was located and the bottom line price other dealers had offered me with a trade in of my car. I even had it in writing and he assured me they would meet or possibly BEAT that price, but I would have to go there in person. He knew the other dealers were willing to come to me, but insisted it had to be done this way and would be well worth my time. It was a complete and utter lie. When I got there, Jerry Hadwin, the owner, said no way can they match the other deal and would not even meet me halfway in price. He said it just was not worth his time. So after all the texts, calls, emails, lies and empty promises by Damian, I went home and asked Bell and Bell if they could accommodate me and they did. I love my new car and Bell and Bell has earned my business and I have told many people to go there and stay away from Hadwin-White. Other people had warned me about Hadwin-White's misleading practices, but I had to experience it for myself and regret wasting all my time with them.
Fraulent Sale - vickideidra
CRecently, I was due to purchase a vehicle from this dealership. It was to be transported to another state. I communicated with the salesman(Noah Prine) through out the process. He in return communicated with the sales manager (Paul Streaman). We had reached a agreement, insurance was paid to transport the vehicle, it was due to arrive on Feb. 10, 2020 between 3:00-4:00 pm. Spoke with them the evening before due date. All was well, we sealed the time slot for delivery and my husband took off from work to be present at delivery. Then, I texted Noah day of delivery in which he texted me back. The vehicle was sold! they sold it that morning of delivery. How fraudulent could that be? I was told on Friday, the vehicle was taken off the floor. On the following Tuesday its sold? This has been a expense on my family, and no one at the dealership has tried to call me. Mr. Geffert the General Manager of the dealership sent me a text asking for my availability to discuss the matter. I responded and he still did not call. This is extremely disappointing!!!!
I can recommend this dealership for service only, they do... - ls2gto
I can recommend this dealership for service only, they do a satisfactory job; not exactly the best, and sometimes take too long to get the job done. If you have a good relationship with them, you can get away with most aftermarket modifications on the vehicle without any problems of refused warranty work. Sales on the other hand, they are too uptight on the pricing and the salespersons do not do a good job to make you feel important enough to call you once a vehicle is available, etc. I ended up buying my car from a dealership about an hour away because I could actually haggle a price on it.
Customer Service Failure - Frank Banks
Bad at honoring Appointment made at least 30 days in advance for car repairs or Maintenance. I have waited for 60 days after 2 appointments were dropped due to The front desk Secretary's not calling to confirm online appointment and appointment made in person to repair radio wiring.
Best Customer Service - budgirl
Customer services is the best in town. Sales team is always willing to help me find what car I am wanting. Services department is fast and very friendly!
Best Dealer in Upstate SC - joel_taylor
Wakefield Automotive was great to deal! Jay Wakefield and his staff are tremendously friendly. They were able to locate the exact truck that I was looking for and we negotiated over the phone. I did not step foot in the dealership until I picked up the vehicle. Jay was quick to return phone calls or would even text me to say that he would call me back soon.
There were no processing fees and they gave me the best price out of all the dealers in the upstate SC area.
They didn't push any "extra" packages on me. I have even had some followup conversations with them after the sale.
You can't go wrong in dealing with Wakefield Buick GMC. They were highly recommended to me and I highly recommend them if you are in the market for a new vehicle!
