I recently had a terrible experience buying a used Tacoma from Handy. Less than a week after buying the truck, it became undrivable and had to be towed to the service department. I'm very surprised that t from Handy. Less than a week after buying the truck, it became undrivable and had to be towed to the service department. I'm very surprised that the truck could pass a Vermont state inspection. While the truck was being worked on, I called at least five times to try to get an update on the condition of the truck, what repairs would be done and how much it was going to cost, but nobody could tell me. They ultimately did some repairs on the truck that I never knew about nor asked for and charged me for those repairs. There's multiple reasons I can't trust Handy: 1. I can't trust them to sell me a vehicle at a fair price. They either weren't aware or didn't inform me of serious mechanical problems and charged me as if the truck were in good working condition. 2. After I owned the truck nobody would tell me what work their service department were doing. 3. When the work was completed, I asked for an update on the condition of the truck and nobody could give me answers. 4. I've complained over the phone and email asking for someone who could give me an explanation about these issues and I've heard nothing a week later. If I were ever forced to buy a used vehicle from Handy again, I would pay an independent mechanic to inspect the vehicle to make sure I was getting a fair price and I would never take a vehicle to their service department again. I think they probably have skilled technicians and most people I talked with seemed like they wanted to help, but their management and customer communication is terrible! More
