We purchased a 2019 Hyundai Elantra for our daughter from Parks Hyundai in Gainesville (PHG) in May 2019. In October 2019 her car was taken in to PHG for a prepaid maintenance service. Her oil was changed and everything was checked over and given a clean bill of health. On January 2, 2020 while traveling home from Pensacola (Christmas break) back to Gainesville (college), her car's check oil warning light came on, then her check battery light turned on, and then her check engine light turned on. All of these lights turned on in rapid succession within a 10-minute time frame. After the Check Engine Light came on, the car just stalled out and quit in the middle of the interstate (I-10)--leaving my daughter and I vulnerable to a potentially fatal disaster/accident. Fortunately, we were able to contact Hyundai Roadside assistance and they towed us to the nearest Hyundai dealership which was Hyundai of Dothan. We rolled in around 5pm and they were closing up their service department, but were kind enough to take a look at the car even though most of their technicians were getting ready to go home. They showed us that the oil drain plug was missing and because of this, all of the oil had leaked out along the highway resulting in the engine locking up. They advised us to call Parks Hyundai in Gainesville the next morning.
We called PHG and spoke with Ken Irvin (service mgr) and John Lanza (gen mgr) several different times and they refused to take responsibility for the loosened drain plug & refused to even work with us to get the problem fixed, citing vandalism. We contacted Corporate Hyundai who eventually denied our claim for repairs because they stated the issue was not due to a manufacturer's defect so was not covered by our NEW car warranty. Basically, no one from Hyundai was willing to help us. Except for Mike Evans, the service manager at Hyundai of Dothan. After several weeks of us going back and forth with Hyundai Corporate and Parks Hyundai of Gainesville, he was the only one who was willing to help and went above and beyond in order to make things right for us. I also want to add that while we were waiting for my husband to pick us up from Dothan the night that our car broke down, the staff at Hyundai of Dothan were extremely kind & sympathetic--after hearing our story, one of the employees went and bought us dinner!
We can't say enough good things about Mike Evans and his service staff. They were all very helpful and once we were able to get the repairs covered by our auto insurance, Mr. Evans helped us locate a new engine for the car and one of his technicians (Pasha) worked on it over the weekend to have it ready for us. Mr. Evans and Hyundai of Dothan helped restore our faith in humanity. They were a beacon of integrity and kindness in the midst of a very dark & disappointing experience with the Hyundai Brand. After this experience, we would be hard pressed to recommend purchasing a car from Hyundai--and definitely not from Parks Hyundai in Gainesville. Our overall rating of Hyundai is dismal to say the least. No representative from Hyundai was willing to help us except for Mike Evans of Hyundai of Dothan. We highly recommend Mike Evans and his service department of Hyundai of Dothan.

Hi I took my Jeep Cherokee here for 2 recalls. Driving home that night, my car starting acting crazy. It was speeding when I wanted it to stop and lunging periodically when driving. I called the service department to discuss. They were concerned and wanted me to get it back to them right away. Due to my work schedule, it would have been 4 days before I could get it to them. The service department came to my work and picked up the car, fixed it and brought it back to me. They didn't want me driving around with the car acting so nutty. They indicated the recall had malfunctioned and repeated the recall procedure followed by a test drive to make sure all was ok. Thanks for the extra effort to make sure my car was corrected.

Hughes Auto service Fixed my Hyudai, the part was put on wrong then they charged me again to put the right part on when the manager agreed to waive the service charge, the charge was on the bill anyway. Also Dean Team Hyundai did not fix my service problem back in November when they first had, said they did not have time.

I have a 2017 Hyundai Elantra that I purchased in tuscumbia AL. One day on my way to Birmingham my car started making an extremely strange noise and vibration to the point that it was scary to drive. Long story short I bring it to this dealership in Jasper and ends up an extenstion cord got caught in my drive train and destroyed everything inside. $4000 worth of damage. Yes you heard right, AN EXSTENSION CORD! Anywho luckily State Farm insurance handled it comprehensively. That being said this dealership was extremely thorough with the repairs. It took 3 weeks to get my car back but they took their time to make sure the job got done right! It came out perfect bumper was fixed and car rides better then it did when I first bought it. However once my girlfriend sits in the car she points out to me a big red stain on the passenger seat and then I notice a cigarette burn on my seat! I was outraged! Mistakes do happen though, people spill things it happens. The manager said none of the mechanics smoked and it could possibly be the mechanics at the body shop they sent it to. Now I know what your thinking why would I go to a dealership where this happens and why is this guy giving them 5 stars. I'll tell you why. Because once I brought it to their attention without question they took care of it IMMEDIATELY! I had a loaner car ready when I got there so I could run my errands for the day. Even though the manager (Walt Ackerman) was convinced it wasn't his staff that made the burn or stain he still took responsibility for it because of two reasons. 1. He understands the customers needs come first. 2. He understood regardlesss of who caused it I left the car with his establishment and they were responsible and he immediately stood behind his company's name. Within 4 hours the car was fixed and he even gave me a free full tank of gas for my troubles. This is what it's all about, was I mad my interior was what I thought was ruined? Of course! I was livid! But everyone makes mistakes we are all human what was important is that the Manager Walt did the right thing took responsibility and solved the issue without hesitation and when I see that I think that's the best quality you can look for in any form of a store. If he cares this much about fixing a
Mistake imagine how much he cares about putting customers in good cars with good deals attached to them. Although a mistake was made I have never seen such diligent and incredible customer service! Hyundai should really recognize this man as one of their best representatives. Also I would like to give an honorable mention to the woman who runs the service department (by herself!) Melinda. I noticed some people in the waiting room talking about how she seemed unapproachable and stern. However that's not the case at all. I was able to actually have a human conversation with her while waiting for my car and she was an extremely nice person! The reason why she may seem stern and unapproachable is because she's the only one working there! SHES RUNNING THE ENTIRE SHOW ALL BY HERSELF AND SHE DOES A xxxx GOOD JOB! Even though she does it all on her own she gets everything done perfectly and she was extremely organized and tended to any need I had while waiting even though she was dealing with atleast 5 other customers. She never stops moving and I never seen her take a break but regardless when she was moving she was getting things done! I hope the owner of Jasper Hyundai sees this so they understand how hard Melinda works for them and they should really consider hiring her some help, even if it's part time. At the very least a raise is due! I'm not saying Melinda can't handle it trust me she can! But I think I speak for all people when I say we all can use a little help sometime. So moral of the story if your looking to get a Hyundai of get your Hyundai serviced and don't want to deal with idiots and you don't want to have to worry that your car is going to be fixed correctly go to Hyundai of jasper. However on your way there watch out for extension cords on the road! 😂
Service team is great sales team does not honor commitments. - That guy
Superior Hyundai had a salesman who sold a Saab mode 93 to my dad and gave him a free oil change and detail then refused to honor the commitment. Superior had a a salesman named Randall who promised a detailing and oil change with a Saab model 93. My father asked me to take it to the dealer for its maintenance. I called to make an appointment with the business to get these services done and came at my appointed time at 10:00 on Saturday April 30 2016 and was told that the sales manager had said they would not honor the commitment for a detailing. I went to have a discussion with The manager and he told me no salesman should be making a sale on an "as is" "no warranty" car and proceeded to tell me to review the paperwork in which Randall had noted an oil change only. Randall had given us a card with his name and "free detail" written on the back as a coupon and had made a verbal reckoning with my family for the free detailing. When I told him this he said that that kind of promise is the reason Randall is no longer with them - in other words I know he probably told you this but screw you I don't care and we got rid of him for similar reasons. Basically what I got from him was that the contract is a military style contract and if it isn't in my writing in not going to care about it. I know we will probably never get the detailing, it's simply the arrogance of the dealership and the principle of the matter: I just want someone to know that this is how they do business and please be aware. One of the things I have the least use for in this world is a liar and it has been my experience that that's exactly what your going to get out of Superior Hyundai's sales team and that the management, apparently, will be there to defend their lies. They have lost any future possibility of business from me or my family and all over a detailing. Maybe I'm living too far in the past but I feel that I should honor any commitment I make to someone whether I have written it down or told them that I will do it. If you won't do whatever it is then don't tell me that you will... I can guarantee I will never do business with them again and will encourage others to seek their transportation elsewhere after this happening - word of mouth is a powerful tool.
On a positive note - the service team was great - courteous and professional. I'm not looking for them to honor the commitment anymore - honestly even if they offered to honor their commitment I wouldn't accept after this I really want people to know.
