If I could give 0 stars I would. I asked all the right questions but was still lied to about the condition of the car I purchased. After taking it to be looked at after a smell wouldn’t go away (sales manager and sales rep said they double checked and it was nothing) a few issues were discovered which have and are going to cost me a lot of money. I sent an email to the general manager with no response. Just goes to show they truly don’t care. Do not buy from them!

Gave us a better deal than originally promised. Had the vehicle that we wanted. Then helped work out a key problem (mixup that left us with one key for our new vehicle and one to another vehicle on their lot) promptly and at minimum pain to us - even though we purchased our Compass long distance and flew in to get it - not discovering the key issue until we were over 1000 miles away.

Long review but worth the read. Ames Ford is NOT an honorable dealership. I have been working for months talking to Faisal indicating I want to be first in line to buy the new GT500 when it comes out. We had worked out a deal and shook hands at MSRP. Faisal calls me 1 hour before me driving to the dealership and signing the contract to tell me Nick (Sales Manager) can no longer sell it at MSRP because he is getting a bidding war from other dealers out of State. He said if I still want it, he will now sell it to me at $18k over MSRP. I asked him about our deal at MSRP and he said they can no longer honor it. Faisal has told me numerous times that Ames Ford does not play the over MSRP markup game because they would rather sell the car and get it on the road to someone local. Turns out they are greedy and do play that game. Ford does not allow any dealer to sell over MSRP as an “After Dealer Markup”, but they can get away with it by calling it a “Market Adjustment”. It’s the same thing, it is a loop hole in the system. Ford has been notified of their non-honorable actions towards Ford themselves and me. Can’t trust Ames Ford by their word or a handshake. I have left an online review for them before, but Nick threatened my car club which has nothing to do with them by pulling their sponsorship with them if I didn’t remove my comments. As of now our car club has severed ties with them. We do not want to associate with an organization that has no honor and makes threat to our car club over an individual matter. Ames Ford has no honor and breaks deals. You shouldn’t trust them either. My honest review is now being put back up.

Called the dealership on 9/18 to see if a vehicle was still available for sale to look at on Saturday 9/19 as we had a 3 hour drive ahead if us. Kevin, the sales rep asked his boss and assured me it would be available the next morning and detailed by 11 am. We were 2 hours into our drive when Kevin called hoping we hadn’t left yet as the vehicle was not going to be available. Apparently the sales manager had been driving it herself and decided to drive her pickup to work, while the vehicle we were very interested in was driven by her husband to work which was sitting at a casino parking lot. He said it would be available on Monday to see. They had not contacted the sales manager to let her know we were coming to look at the vehicle. I believe it is very poor business to offer vehicles for sale and let spouses drive them to sit in a parking lot. Can’t make sales sitting in a parking lot at a casino. Won’t do business with this dealership even though this was the vehicle we’d been looking for.

One of many examples! Went for a test drive with service manager, he verified the complaint on the truck, scheduled follow-up appointment to get it fixed on Friday. Called Friday evening to check status on my truck sorry we never got to look at it the appointment was at 9:30 AM! Been dealing with this dealership for six months trying to get my truck fixed!
