I recently purchased a Volvo, and although I have financed many cars over the years, I have never had an experience quite like the one I had with Kelvin Mendez. From the very beginning, Kelvin went above and beyond to help me. I am usually very cautious and skeptical when it comes to financing and making sure I understand exactly what I am paying for. Kelvin took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all of my questions with incredible patience, and worked hard to find every posst was his honesty, professionalism, and dedication. He researched every option thoroughly and found opportunities and benefits that I never would have discovered on my own. His knowledge and attention to detail were truly outstanding. Here’s the rub, I’m not made of money but love Volvos! I had a tire sensor go bad…clearly had to have it replaced as it affected the ABS system. Knew it was gonna cost me hundreds of dollars..and Volvo engineers terrific cars so I’m ok paying for quality products and services. I’m not Ok with being gouged for diagnostics.. car was worked on at 1:10 and done at 2:00. Was charged properly for the 50 minutes including time to diagnose.. But 423 bucks for the diagnosis…let me repeat…$423 dollars. Of course they should be paid a market fair fee to diagnose, but that is beyond my imagination. Plus they tack on a 50 buck “shop” charge? Ok so I learned my lesson…I was in a hurry to fix the problem…don’t be in a hurry. Get a printed diagnostic estimate…which I was not offered and when I asked if I could see the breakout the repair clerk hesitated as if that was an unusual question. I was there so I just said fix it…and make whoever services your car show you a breakdown …diagnostics, labor and shop fees? Net result no more Sarasota Volvo even for oil changes. I’ll do my homework and at least not be angry for an entire day. By the way…no reflection on the mechanics…this is a reflection on the dealership approach to helping Volvo owners without soaking them. It’s the world we live in. So, I’m not sure if this is a complaint or a personal intervention. I’m gonna recommend them anyway even though I feel like there has been a stick up!

We called the dealership this morning when we saw a used vehicle in which we were interested. We confirmed the price and that the vehicle was still available. We were assured it was there and they confirmed the price. We made an appointment to see the vehicle - telling the dealer that it would take us 2 hours to get there. She told us to travel safely. When we were 10 minutes from arriving we received a call from a manager by the name of Jonathan and were told that someone had just walked in and wanted the same vehicle and gave them a $500 deposit so it was no longer available. We were incredulous. We had a similar experience recently where we were the people who walked in without an appointment to see a vehicle but we were told that someone else had an appointment within 1/2 hour so they in good conscience could not let us see the vehicle until they honored that appointment. They said they would call us if that person didn't buy the vehicle. We went out and got a bite to eat and then went back to see the vehicle when the other person didn't buy it. That dealer behaved honorably. Volvo of Melbourne did not. They don't respect you or your time.

This was the worst car-buying experience I have ever had. One of the primary reasons I chose to lease a Volvo XC60 Plug-in Hybrid was because I needed a way to keep the vehicle cool for my dog while I was inside a restaurant or store. My previous Audi Q5 PHEV had this capability, and I specifically asked the salesperson at Gunther Volvo whether the XC60 could do the same. The salesperson assured me that it could, explaining that as long as the hybrid battery had sufficient charge, the vehicle could maintain cabin cooling while parked. He was unable to demonstrate the feature because the battery was not charged, but I relied on his representation and proceeded with the lease. To further support his claim, the salesperson even sent me a Google search result stating that the vehicle could maintain cabin cooling for 1 to 3 hours with the vehicle turned off. Because there was so much conflicting information available online, I relied on what I believed was the expertise of the dealership and its sales staff. The very next day, I discovered that the vehicle only provides stationary climate control for about four minutes. After numerous phone calls and text messages with the salesperson, I eventually learned that the only way to keep the car cool for a longer period is to use the Volvo app to remotely start the vehicle. Even then, the car can only be remotely started for 15 minutes at a time, twice in succession. After that, you must physically return to the vehicle and start it with the key before remote starting is available again. Had I known about these limitations before signing the lease, I would not have leased this vehicle. What concerns me most is that no one at Gunther Volvo seemed to fully understand the capabilities and limitations of the vehicle they were selling. As a customer, I depended on their product knowledge when making a major financial decision. Instead, I was given inaccurate information about a feature that was essential to my purchase decision. I am now stuck with a vehicle costing approximately $75,000 that does not meet my needs. I strongly recommend that prospective buyers at Gunther Volvo independently verify any important features and insist on a live demonstration before relying on a salesperson's assurances.

He is the best sales man I have encountered. Mike in the finance is very helpful and will give you helpful advice on you loan options.
