I drove in from out of town to Audi Rochester to test drive a pre-owned A6 and S5 after doing the same at a local dealer. I had no intention of purchasing that day but ended up making a return trip that evening to pick up a pristine 2016 A6 due to the hassle-free buying experience. David's knowledge and thoroughness throughout the entire process was very impressive, as was his follow-up with my questions the next day. Recently, I was notified that my Audi had a recalled part that made driving unsafe. I have a summer road trip coming up with my fiancée and I was extremely nervous to drive my Audi without having performed this recall. I called a number of dealers in a 500-mile radius and found many of the people on the phone came off as disgruntled or rude. What’s worse is that the wait time for parts would be upwards of two months. I read about Maguire’s Audi of Ithaca and I thought to give them a try. The person who scheduled my appointment was friendly and assured me they would have the parts in within a week, and scheduled my appointment at a convenient time.
On the day of my appointment, I arrived in Ithaca (beautiful town) and Theo got me checked in quickly and courteously. He explained what was being done and how long it should take. As the repair was progressing, he checked in with me to let me know how much longer it would be, and to ask my input. Theo was professional, and extremely friendly. I stopped by the parts desk to inquire for a friend about some Toyota parts and the lady at the parts desk was also quite friendly and easy to talk to. I discovered that what I was quoted $150 for at my local dealer was being sold at Maguire’s parts desk for $25! How is this possible!
As I wandered the premises, I found everything to be clean and bright and well laid out. They even have a business centre next to the waiting area, with computers and free wifi.
When I wandered over to the Audi showroom, I was greeted by Jackie. She made me feel right at home and we talked about some of the awesome new Audi cars and their features, and she showcased their products while making me feel like I was important, but never once making me feel pressured. She made me feel like I was dealing with a kind, caring, and knowledgeable human being who has a great deal of good knowledge, but without the arrogance or disrespect that commonly accompanies that knowledge. She even checked with the service desk to give me an update on how much longer my Audi would take!
When the service was completed, Theo walked me through everything that had been done, and I came out to find my car washed and parked in front of the door!
I wish every dealership experience could be like this- friendly, professional, competent staff, quick and convenient scheduling, and great prices. I will certainly be happy to make the 250-mile drive again next time I need a dealer service.

I am writing this because I was so impressed with the staff over at Audi of Smithtown. My experience was easy and stress-free, to say the least. Mustafa Ali helped me with my purchase. I was looking for a Certified Pre-Owned TT, and he was quite detailed and thorough in finding me the best deal. He, along with Oz Ali, are very attentive and conscientious to the buyer's needs. Oz took the time to thoroughly explain all my financing options. On the day I first checked out the TT, I noticed a small scratch on the door. Mustafa saw to it that it was repaired immediately before I picked it up. That is the type of service you hope to expect from a dealer and they delivered in every aspect. If you are in the market for a new or CPO Audi, I cannot stress enough that you visit Mustafa at Audi of Smithtown first.

I had some minor engine work done (changed a senor value, and grossly overcharged me. Tried to negotiate a two week plan for release of vehicle(I use car to earn money), insisted I pay in full for repair, before car could be release. I believed that it was fair request, but instead was suggested that I not to trusted(not sure where this conclusion can from, since this first time doing business at this dealership. Insults were said to me on several occasions( I suspect something very ugly was going here, because I usually have a great experience with classic Audi.
I do not recommend this dealership, if you are a male of color(I did notice that there were to sales people of color, but none in management.
To summarize, I did ask to speak with management, but was refused, I also with spoke Audi of America, and know help, seem to indifferent about how this was representing the brand.

Where to begin. Should I start at the beginning so that I can recount every error. No to be more clear and precise, I will omit some further damning details to stick to he most offensive of Audi Open Road Manhattan’s behaviors.
For those who don’t want to read further just know that Audi Manhattan has a broken sales processes and no respect for a loyal customer’s time. When the issue is raised to a Manager they will make no attempt to rectify the situation.
I’ve leased my Audi Q5 Premium Plus for 29 months on a 36 month lease. I got a good deal on the lease for sure, but nothing unusual about my initial process. In the time since I’ve been a good customer of Audi Manhattan servicing my car there and also using them for Body work when my car was in an accident.
I take my car in for a recall and regular service. When I do I receive a phone call where they tell me that with the special incentives Audi is running I can replace my old Q5 early with a new Q5 for the same payment a month. I wasn’t recording the phone call so is it possible she said similar? Maybe, but I distinctly remember the Sales Rep ending the call by saying it was a no brainer to replace my older car with a new one if “the payment is the same”.
I schedule a visit 2 days hence, plenty of time I think for them to work out the potential details of what a lease would look like.
I show up with my wife promptly for my appointment and they insist on taking us on a test drive. Is the 2018 Q5 better than the 2016 Q5, yes. Is it radically different no. After the test drive we sit down to talk numbers. When I say I was told I can get the same payment the sales person gets nervous and asks if that is what the Sales rep actually said. He then starts asking very basic details of my lease, like how many payments I have left, details which should noted from their own systems.
He then says that given the number of payments this will be very hard to get done and asks how I got such a good price to begin with. I remind him that I didn’t want to come in, I was encouraged to under the promise I could get a new car for the same payment as the old car.
The salesperson, who by the way was quite new, then left to the Magical Place wherever Salespeople go to bring you a price on a car.
He comes back and says, “Are you sure you don’t want a new sedan? This would make it much easier”. No sir I don’t want a sedan, I told you I was happy with my car and used it to go skiing. I had to remind him that I was called.
He then shows me the starting price for a comparable lease it is over $260 more a month than my current lease! At this point you can understand how irate I am. I’ve spent 2 hours of my wife and my time, 4 hours total. I’ve skipped a morning of work for this. Most of the time was spent collecting information they already had or working out details that could have been handled in advance. Only to be asked for 50% price increase over my current payment.
At this point, since my salesman is new, I insist on speaking to a Manager to complain. To be clear, I tell everyone that my anger is not about not getting a good price it’s the total lack of respect for my time that has just occurred, I inform them that based on this last of respect I want nothing to do with them including future repairs.
I speak to the Manager who understands my story and asks if there is anything they can do. There is some minor work that needs to be done on my existing car and I say that giving the inconvenience the sensible thing to do would be to conduct the repair at cost. Not lose money, just don’t make money. He seems to think that is reasonable and goes off, only to return offering my a 10% discount on the repair. What an insult. I leave only to ever return for free service with my Audi Care or to return the car.

I was very pleasantly surprised with the service recently provided at Schmitt's. This is my first leased car, and they have been very helpful and courteous every step of the way and have answered any and all of my questions. All of the staff have been very friendly, going out of their way to make me feel like a valued customer. From the time I phoned to make an appointment, speaking to a very friendly clerk, to the short time I spent in their comfortable customer lounge area, and complimentary car wash, I felt very welcomed and part of the "Schmitt's VW family". The staff was actually happy to see me and thanked me for my patronage! That made me feel very good about my lease and my relationship with them, and it reminded me of the kind of 'throw-back' service that you used to get - when businesses cared about you and the customer came first...! THANK YOU for treating me like you really cared!

Be very careful with their service department. They were quick to recommend unecessary services in addition to the initial problem. In the end they were unable to correct the initial problem and simply said that the engine needed to be replaced. Shows me that they are more concerned about generating revenue that helping the customer. Find yourself an good independent garage!

Salesman was smug and rude, having sought help for minor issue with vehicle recently purchased from another dealer. Storm motors was in the area at the time. When I asked dealer if he had any ideas what I could do, reply was, "should have bought the truck here." That was it. No help at all. Left with a window that wouldn't close and chance of rain. Sounded like sour grapes to me
