Everything went well. It must have been a slow day, as the length of time at the dealership was much less than usual. It must have been a slow day, as the length of time at the dealership was much less than usual. More

Last visit was for a Ford Protect extended warranty covered replacement of a wheel bearing. It had the usual $100 deductible. I first brought the car in for you to look at a bearing type noise in covered replacement of a wheel bearing. It had the usual $100 deductible. I first brought the car in for you to look at a bearing type noise in May 2023 inv # 50875 and your tech said he couldn’t find one, but he did find uneven tire wear, which resulted in a need for a front in alignment. Two years later, same sound a little worse this time. You replaced the wheel bearing. I had to do another shop and they told me it was a bad wheel bearing which brought me to you because that’s a warranted item. Now, I have more unusual tire wear. That process went well but they were a couple of things during that visit that I was a little disappointed about. While I was there and already had $100 deductible to pay I reminded my service Director Mike about an air conditioning short cycling problem we had heard together during a prior fall service visit who told me at the time to bring it back in the spring. I’m told there’s gonna be a $350 possible charge if it’s not a warranty problem because it may simply be normal wear and tear in a system that lost Freon. It could also be a low pressure or high pressure switch. or a sealed system leak. In order to diagnose the issue the system will have to be completely evacuated and recharged with a leak detection additive put into the system. If the leak or defect was found and it would be covered under warranty and I just have to pay the deductible, but if there was no leak found with the leak detection system, I’d be responsible for the $350 charge. I had already talked to three other shops about the cycling issue and they all said that they would evacuate and recharge the Freon with a leak detector and the prices ranged from $69-$179. Joes’s Auto. Radair, Conrad’s all with ASE staff. Call me crazy but when you pay a few thousand bucks for a warranty and you have a problem with a component of the car this just didn’t give me the good feeling we had after every prior encounter with Klaben’s service team. This was a first. I’ll take it to one of these other shops and see what the outcome is. If it’s a bad component or system leak I’ll be back for a warranty repair but I’ll be out a second $100. The other slightly lesser issue was that I had asked if a possible rear shock rattle could looked, The right rear one was already replaced in 2023 on inv 50875. I was told it would be a pretty healthy diagnostic fee for them to look at it. There was no diagnostic fee in May 2023 has your policy changed? This was the first time we’ve recall seeing that. Normally we’ve been told you will take a look at and let us know, More
