Purchase review: one of the best trade-in and purchase experiences we’ve ever had (full stop). Devin and Anitra Traverso are the absolute cream of the crop. In summary… Trade-In values and purchase price were better than fair. Communication was clear. No gotcha’s or gimmicks. They even offered to drop off the new car and pick up the trades (out of state purchase). Finance rate was reasonable without negotiation. They even put up with me continuously trying to find the shoe that was going to drop (but never came). As someone who has bought and sold more cars than I’d care to admit, I can tell you that this will be the first dealer I return to if buying a Ford (even though it’s a two hour drive) or if trading/selling a vehicle of any make. Well done.

Without any hesitation, Curtis - Service Manager took me right in and made sure my car was in tip top shape before my road trip. They rotated my tires, checked the car totally and I drove away with a clean shiny car, new windshield wipers, new battery and feeling like the Most Important Person in the World. Looking for another Plug-In Hybrid with our requests, like looking for a needle in a haystack. Never found, although Alex did everything possible. It is such a pleasure to have an experience justifying a 5 star review. I drove my car for over 16 years mostly because I hate buying cars. There was NO endless waiting “while I ask the manager”. There were NO additional costs for extra dealer add-ons, just the expected registration fees and sales tax. Kevin, Dabo, Keren and others made the car buying experience actually enjoyable. From the test drive and answering my endless questions to the sales and financing contracts, they were kind, patient, knowledgeable and totally transparent with NO pressure. It took over two hours for an oil change and I thought they were going to do my brakes. My receipt says they completed the 60K mile service (Oil Change) and I didn't need brakes and my tires were in 'ok' condition. The tires are new. The last time I was the dealership they said at my 60K check I would need new brakes and tires. I am now wondering if the brakes being okay was just them not wanting to take another 3 hours to change them. I can clearly hear them when I am stopping. I have never had an issue before. This is my first bad experience so I will give it another try.

Deshaun also stepped up and helped me get both my vehicles scheduled for mobile service the very next day. They even provided complimentary service as a goodwill gesture. Bottom line up front: Expect the bare minimum required by contract or law with sub par customer service. Poor experience with DARCARS in Lanham, Maryland and with national Ford Customer Service. Background: I brought my Ford in for transmissions problems covered by extended warranty. The service department did not correctly diagnose all the issues on the first or even second try. On the third try they finally fixed the transmission. I was not provided a loner and only received the bare minimum required rental assistance of 10 days, even though they had my car for 6 weeks (Ford logistics couldn’t move parts quickly), through Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. To top it off, I had to move to my new work assignment in Florida while they still had my car. I had to fly back 2 weeks after moving to pick up my car and drive it back down. I’m a single car household so I had to get a rental for the majority of this time…I’m out a few thousand extra dollars in rental fees and flights now because their service department couldn’t fix my car on the first or even second try. And to top it off, even to get the $350 for the 10 days of rental assistance it took them two and a half months to get that to me. I wasn’t expecting 100% coverage of these expenses, but even an attempt at extra coverage would have shown some ownership for their service quality and some compassion/empathy for my situation. I have been a lifelong Ford owner and now I’m questioning why I would want to continue to do business with this organization at any level.

Extending my thanks to Joe Porter and his team at Bob Bell Ford (used car dept). I had a completely hassle-free process today when I went in to purchase a pre owned Hyundai Veloster.
