My wife and I had been thinking about getting a new car and we finalized on Subaru Outback. We were debating whether to go for 2019 or wait for 2020. I started looking into the 2019 to see if I could get a “great deal” on the older model. After doing some research, we decided to go for 2019 if we could get it below a certain price. I got a few quotes over email from multiple dealers. One dealer offered us a really good price but they didnt have the Crimson Red color in stock and I would have needed to wait 4 weeks for them to get a car with the color and options I wanted. All other dealers refused to match the low price and made it clear that it was "too good to be true".
We live in the greater Seattle area and I extended my search area to ~6 hrs drive from my place and noticed that Carr Subaru in Portland, OR had a vehicle in transit with the exact color and options that I wanted. I reached out to them on July 3rd and asked them if they would match the lowest quote I received. Vijay (VJ) responded saying they would match the price and the car is expected to arrive on July 8th and I can reserve it if I wanted.
I received a call from Vijay on July 8th telling me that the car has arrived and its with their inspection department. We decided, I can pick it on 9th at 10.00 am.
I drove for 4 hrs and reached the dealership on Tuesday morning. I was pretty nervous, will it be a bait and switch, or was there going to be some “hidden fee” that I would need to pay even though Vijay called it out in email specifically that they don't play games.
When I reached there at 10.00 am, I was prepared to be there for 3-4 hours or more. To my surprise the car was already pulled up, it had a full tank of gas and all pre-delivery inspection/ detailing already done. The car had 4 miles on it when I started to drive. We took it for a ~20 minute test drive, before we continued with the deal. Vijay let us take as much time we wanted to make sure we were happy with the car.
Once back Vijay quickly discussed Subaru's extended warranties and Starlink services etc that I declined to buy. There was no pressure at any step of the process. I had told Vijay that this would be an all cash transaction and I wasn't interested in a loan. Everything had gone so smoothly, and I couldn’t help but wonder if this is where the “hassle” begins as we met the Finance Manager.
Fernando, the Finance Manager was great too. He asked me to verify that my details on the paperwork are correct. He validated that I had the check for the correct amount, and provided me a receipt and copy of all the paperwork. He didn't even try to sell a loan :) Since I was a Washington state buyer buying in Oregon, he explained to me the car registration process. They would send the paperwork to my DMV and I can just visit the DMV to pick my plates or they can handle all that on my behalf and they can send me the plates by mail. I chose to go to DMV myself since it is only 1 mile from the place I live.
After meeting with the Finance Manager, Vijay helped set up the Bluetooth and other settings in the car and made sure both my wife and myself are comfortably set for the road trip back home. The delivery took two hours, and that seemed extremely good to me as it is including the test drive and the time to customize the settings for us. The drive home went very well, and we have been enjoying the new car. The paperwork reached my DMV in a timely manner and I was able to register the car quickly.
It was the best car buying experience I have ever had. Vijay respected that I preferred to have communication over email. We talked on the phone only after we had agreed on the price and the date/ time of the deal. We knew exactly what trim, color, options and accessories we wanted. A lot of other dealers would ignore that and instead offer us something else. Vijay offered us exactly what we wanted without playing the games.
Kudos to Carr Subaru and special thanks for Vijay for making my car buying experience haggle free and extremely pleasant. We would highly recommend Vijay for your next car. I went into this process all backwards! I got my loan first then went to find a car. They worked with me and never till the signing needed me physically there. We find the car we were interested in. I sent over an offer to the company and they countered an offer and we then from there we got the ball rolling. I sent an offer over Friday (at closing), counter offer sent to us Early Saturday, picked up car Sunday. There were maybe 6 phone calls made between us in those 3 days. This was so smooth and I would do it again this way and if I need another car they will have my business!

I went to the dealership to have a brake lamp recall done. I explained that my 2015 Forester was making a front end noise. I asked if they had time to look at it, I'd be grateful as I was from Roseburg. They sent a mechanic, Dan, as a ride a long and he diagnosed an axle was bad. I was given a loaner car (very nice) and told to come back the next day. I called the next day and asked that all the computer updates be done and if there were any problems to please phone me. I drove to the dealership and my service advisor, Brandon, asked me what I was doing there. He told me that the car was not ready as a part was on order. I was upset as I had just drove over an hour there and no one bothered to call me. Long story made short, my car had the axle replaced, the transmission replaced, front oil pump replaced, and the original recall done. I am now very leery about Subaru's in general. I was told the new transmission is only covered for approximately 25,000 miles as that is the remainder of my 100,000 warranty. I think that new transmission should be covered by the warranty for another 100,000 as the CVT transmission is a huge problem. Honestly we will probably be dumping this Subaru in the future and staying away from this brand. The work was done well and I had a rental free of charge which were both nice.

This was my first visit to Subaru of Bend. Bre Segale, who assisted me was very nice, informative. I had an issue with the last Subaru dealer that worked on my Crosstrex. Unfortunately, I don’t know the managers name that came over to help me & also spoke to the last Subaru dealership that I had my car serviced at. He was very professional, explained things and both the advisor and manager fixed the issue & got me on my way.

Was sold a"Wentworthless" contract for $599 Now questionable - Foster mom
When I purchased my new car, I was upsold a Resistall clean car service contract, good over 5 years.
The pitch was that as a foster parent of 3 kids who might spill on the fabric, it would be a great investment. Resistall has gone out of business. I have gone in personally, as requested. I was told someone would call me back. I have called, gone online and still NO ONE is communicating with me. Today, the service dept. line rang 10 times before going into voice mail.
My car is in the service center being cared for. I was given a ride home and they will collect me when the car is ready. It took awhile, but they made good their promise. Thank you Wentworth for now being "Worthwhile!"
The rest of the story: I collected my car today, 2/21, and can see no change of a cleaner interior. Since my car has 4 years of use... I give up. Maybe they tried or just "shined me on."

I had the opportunity to visit the service department here on 9/1/18. However I didn't get my vehicle serviced here as I was passing through pulling a trailer and broke down and only 391 miles from my home dealer.
I had the pleasure to deal with Lori Lupo the only service advisor working on a Saturday. I had a charge air cooler tube blow off. I asked if she could check to see if its covered under warranty. I was told that she didn't know how to do that and the guy that does all the warranty work isn't there till Monday. I walked her through the process of looking it up through Ford Oasis. Which it was covered under warranty. Then was told that they couldn't take a look at it until 9/14/18. I even asked if someone could come out and just take a look at it to help band aid it so I can get to my destination. I completely understand that it's hard to take in walk ins and especially on the weekend. However taking a couple of minutes out of the day to have a technician come and take a quick look isn't too much to ask. Needless to say I had to band aid it in their parking lot. On a good note I did make it to my destination later that day.
