Because the good welcome, being nice and professional at the same time, I think your dealership is trustable. First the team want to understand my problem, then handle it almost immediately. This can only be explained at the best car deal I have ever been a part of. These guys went to lengths that no dealer from Birmingham to Tennessee would even consider. I looked at trucks at dealerships with the biggest names and truck volumes in North Alabama, but none of them could see customer over profit. I came into this deal with some serious budget constraints that frankly would be a nightmare for any dealership. These guys put some car dealing skills coupled with a level of customer service I have never seen, and made a great deal for me and the young couple that was able to buy my trade in. Everybody got an awesome deal, Champion made two very satisfied customers, and life is great. Sheldon (Sales Manager) is a master at the keyboard, Terry and Chad did a fantastic job finding the truck I needed and keeping the deal going, and Dan (Finance) got me to the payment I needed and made the dreaded "paper process" quick and painless. Purchasing a vehicle from Clay County Automotive was by far the best car buying experience that I have had in my 30 years of of buying automobiles. All the employees that we met were extremely friendly, they were helpful, and were easy to work with. The dealership had the RAM 1500 that I wanted on their lot and after working with them over the phone, I traveled two hours in hopes of coming to an agreement on the price - I was not disappointed. I don't think I have ever been so disappointed. Researched the van that I wanted. Found it online at Jim Burke, sent in a message and was called the following morning by Stephanie. Asked lots of questions about the vehicle and she had Ron the salesman contact me. Negotiated the price since this purchase was for a homeless shelter. I explained we lived two hours away and he said come on in. Spoke with him three times on the way to get a final price. He stated he would move the van up front for us. This was when we were an hour out. We arrived as stated and he pulled a different van older model more miles less amenities up. When I asked him where the van was we had spoken about he said quote " Sorry we sold it in the auction five days ago" I demanded to speak to his boss who he had been working with to get the price right. After another hour( I know we should have left) they told me they had me another van coming from Huntsville would have to wait a few days more miles for more money. After the manager followed us to our truck he said OK we will do the original price but you have to go ahead and buy it even though you haven't seen it or driven it!!! This wasted our entire day and the shelter still does not have the needed vehicle.To say dissatisfied is an understatement. I would give them a zero star if available.

My husband called and negotiated a price for a car that they had for sale. The man said that they would take the price we offered. There was a leak in the trunk that needed repair so he was checking on when we could pick it up as we lived 4 hours away. The next day, we get a call saying they sold it for cash this morning. We could have paid cash. It was never an issue. My husband had even offered to put it on credit card to lock it down. They are the worst kind of business people and are an example of why people hate dealing with car dealers!!! No ethics!!!!!!!!

Last two times I was in for service (oil change and then fuel filter change), it took considerably longer than they estimated (by at least an hour). But no explanation and no apology. They don't seem to keep track of customers, and how long they have been there. Don't seem to care. Apparently our time isn't important to them.

Denial of Offer - edwardfields
In 2016 I bought a high end new Dodge 1500 ECO . At signing I was told that they (the dealership) would replace my first set of tires. I did not ask for this it was an offer, which I was tickled about. This month is when I requested my new tires. They have now denied that the statement was ever made, this coming from the dealer Manager. I am a 72 year young man that does not want anything from anyone or anything except what I was told I would receive.
Up to this point I had been satisfied with the dealership and service. For the price of a set of tires I will never darken their doors again, do everything I can to spread the word. Now it is not the tires, it is that they are calling me a liar about the situation. I AM NOT A LIAR and stand on my word.

Dropped 2006 Jeep off for a repair on Monday 3/26/18 at 0930AM
For an oil pressure sensor unit replacement (already verified this needs replacement) and an oil change tire rotation.
Got call on Tuesday 03/27/18 stating the following other recommended service should be done; the radiator cap was leaking, and since Jeep has almost 100K miles, should also change out the spark plugs. Of which I gave go ahead for all. Service advisor stated that the oil sensor unit is not in stock and will be there tomorrow (Wednesday 3/28/18), so Jeep will be ready then.
Did not hear back from dealership Wednesday, nor Thursday. I called to check on status Thursday, and was put on hold for quite a long time, hung up and called back to be put on hold again. Once someone picked up phone I was advised the following. Oil sensor unit was ordered Tuesday but never came in on Wednesday, was then reordered to overnight to be delivered Thursday, but again never came in. I asked about the other work being completed and was told that Jeep was currently not ready (was down being worked on at that time). But was also assured that part was on its way and would be there Friday late morning and should be ready to go just after part arrived.
Again, did not hear from dealership Friday, so called to check status. Was put on hold again for thirty minutes, hung up and called back to be put on hold again. Waited it out and finally was told that Jeep will be ready in about 2 to 3 hours. Waited three and a half hours later to call back and check status again. Was again put on hold, waited 45 minutes, hung up. Call back and spoke to operator of which I asked to please not transfer me as no one is picking up and I have already done my time on hold. Explained that I am trying to just pay for serve to pick up Jeep as the work should now be complete. She stated that someone will call me back in 30 minutes.
Waited 45 minutes and called back to be put on hold again. Waited on hold for 1 hour, hung up and called back to be put on hold for a bit over 1 hour this time (it is now 0630PM). Called back and spoke to operator about not transferring me to hold please, and I needed to pay and get my jeep picked up. She told me that they “will” call me back and that they are still there (as they close at 0600PM). Got call from service, but could not pay for repair as it was now after hours, I was asked to call in morning and get everything worked out.
Called at 0800AM Saturday 3/31/18 and spoke to serve department. Looks like everything is indeed done, BUT some confusion on my warranty coverage approval. He asked to give him a few moments to review and call me back as this is first time he is seeing this ticket, of which I understood, but I also stated that my kid is on her way to pick up jeep and warranty issue or not I will pay just to get my car back at this point.
I called back after 0900AM (due to not again receiving a phone call from dealership), was transferred to service department, put on hold, and kicked back to operator (hear we go again). I asked operator to NOT transfer me again and quickly explained that I have been doing this now for the past 24 hours. I only need to pay for my repair, and at this point (once again) I do not care about warranty coverage and that I will pay extra $1000 just to get my Jeep back.
Its 0930Am now – no response from dealer and my kid is on her way to pick Jeep up

Sum up – Kid paid for service after waiting for them to track down manager to approve warranty work?
Lost time on my part – over 4 hours work over phone calls (mostly hold time)
Amount of time to get work performed on Jeep 6 days!

So, lesson learned on our part – never going back to this location nor any other location that is owned by same, for repair work or future purchase. Basic thought is this – if this was so poorly managed, then the rest of the other locations must be same, and its only dumb luck to get anything other than a bad experience!
Not even getting into the bill itself being well above the original estimate, just happy to have my Jeep back.

My wife was assisting my 74 year old mother-in-law in purchasing a used vehicle from Basswood (2016 Toyota Corolla). She saw the advertised price for the car on the internet, and called and spoke with a gentleman named Eddie. A deal was arranged where the car would be purchased at the full asking price, along with the necessary taxes, etc. As we live in Florida, and my wife's mother lives in Gadsden, they agreed to deliver the vehicle to her for that price. On the day before the purchase was to take place, Eddie called my wife and told her that they would need an additional $500, as his manager and the owner said they weren't making enough money off of the deal. When a price is advertised, a deal struck for that FULL PRICE, and arrangements are made for the purchase, I feel that it is fraudulent to then come back and demand more money. I am writing this because I feel the public needs to be aware of how this company tries to take advantage of females and the elderly.

After talking with john ware and the manager we were told we had first right to refusal on a f450 we worked on financing over the weekend Monday got plane ticket to Alabama from San Diego called John to let him know when to expect us and that's when he proceeded to tell us that they sold the truck over the weekend. I guess first right to refusal means nothing there. After having the best car buying experience at pleasureland truck center in Minnesota that I've ever had got my new truck a month later I get an email from John ware asking if I'm still looking for a vehicle and that it would be his pleasure to assist me in any way possible. REALLY ! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! So I called him told him who I was and all he could say" is that's business" well that's not the kind of business I do or would expect from a dealer. Would give 0 stars for everything.

I have a 2014 Jeep Wrangler with a common oil leak from oil cooler housing. Took it in for repair and was told the filter cap was over tightened and this is the cause of failure. I have done all my own service and made sure this has never happened. I will never be back to their location and suggest if you do be careful they are out to make a buck above all.
