We had the pleasure of dealing with Ryan Valenzuela from Chapman Honda when buying our new Odyssey.
A little background. We rarely buy new vehicles. Our last Odyssey we purchased in 2002 and it has 320,000 miles on it. Our previous purchase was a “bait and switch” operation. They sold us one vehicle and tried to give us another.
When we first spoke with Ryan around August 15, we made a deal for a white Odyssey LX. The next day Ryan called and said that the vehicle we bought had already been sold, but not taken out of inventory. I thought here we go again. “bait and switch”, I could not have been more wrong.
Ryan went out of his way to locate a 2025 Odyssey. We usually buy a year-end model because they are the same age as the 2026, but for a lower price. We were not the only ones trying to do that. Added to this I had a doctor’s appointment for surgery on September 5th and needed the new vehicle to drive the 200 miles to that appointment.
Ryan kept us up to date on his search efforts and finally found a silver Touring model, which is exactly what we wanted. The next effort was to get it and deliver it to us in Silver City, NM on or before September 4, so I could go to the doctor the next day.
Ryan was as good as his word. He promised that we would have the Odyssey no later than September 4th . At 5:00 PM on the 4th, the Odyssey was delivered to us and, even though it was his day off, Ryan called to be sure everything was OK.
Ryan is a credit to Chapman Honda and if we should need another vehicle we will be sure to go to Chapman Honda to get it. Well done.
