Mechanic failed to add coolant - sweepeez
I brought my 2004 chevy van to this dealership as I believed they would have the parts I needed in stock and the expertise to complete the repair. I delivered my vehicle at 7 am and the mechanic began work at 8 amand I was advised the vehicle would be ready at 2 pm. The mechanic replaced my water pump and front passenger side wheel bearing. At 5 pm I was advised they would need to keep my vehicle for another day as the engine was now overheating.(The engine was not overheating when I dropped it off for repair) and that I required a new radiator at an estimated cost of 954.00 parts and labor. I asked if I could speak to the mechanic directly and was told he had left for the day. When I informed the sales lady that I would not like to have a new radiator installed , the mechanic who had supposedly left for the day came to speak to me and informed me the engine was overheating due to a plugged radiator. I asked if they could instead flush the radiator ,I was informed they no longer perform this service. It was at this time I informed the mechanic and saleslady I would like to take my vehicle as is and was warned by the mechanic and sales staff (in writing) that this could damage the engine , and if I was to take the vehicle now it would need to be removed from the lot immediately. I drove my vehicle about two city blocks to a radiator specialist who was just closing for the evening but invited me to leave my vehicle on his property for the night and he would look at it the following morning. While I was waiting for the garage to open I decided to do some investigating on my own. The mechanic at Bellamy Strickland informed me the vehicle would overheat in as little as 5 minutes, and this did not seem right to me , so after removing the radiator cap I discovered there was not any visible coolant in the radiator and the radiator was as clean as a whistle.
The next morning at 8 am Dwayne from McDonough Radiator added a gallon of antifreeze/coolant ,,,pressure tested the radiator ,,,took the vehicle for a test drive and I was back on the road by 9 am.
Now I am sure the mechanic at Bellamy Strickland had a long day , but a person who is not mechanically inclined would have been duped out of $954.00 for parts and labor that were not required, and another $150.00 in hotel and meals and wasted another day sitting in their costumer lounge.We all make mistakes , but if a vehicle is overheating , one of the first steps is to check the radiator level.
Overall everyone at this dealership were very friendly and a shout out to Meagan who was very helpful to us , and unfortunately was gone for the day when they tried to drop this un needed repair on us at the end of a long day.
We are now in Nashville and vehicle is running fine.

The work performed was under warranty and the service dept kept us apprised of the repair details through the entire process. Paul Thigpen Chevrolet has the best service center I've dealt with! As always I called Jason in service to ask when I could get my oil changed. He said today. He sent someone to STC where I work and picked up my vehicle to be serviced. In a few hours the same guy brought my car back with the invoice. I never had to leave my job to take my vehicle, pick it up or to pay for the service. They have exceptional service.

Traveling down I-75, 4 hours from home, my Suburban had some major mechanical problems. After several calls to find help, Prince Chevrolet came to our rescue with excellent service. We had problems finding a tow service (even with AAA) and Prince Chevrolet offered their body shop tow truck to get us to their dealership. Marion in Service offered to help us find a rental car, and actually checked reviews on a rental agency while we were talking! Above and beyond consideration of the customer!

Took my Equinox in for my routine oil change and Kathy checked me in and was very nice. You could tell that she had a million things going on, but she still helped me as if I was the only person asking for her assistance. Upon inspection, I needed two new tires, as well as a rear alignment. She tried to find me the same tires that I currently had, which she could not, but she got me right in for my alignment after I went and got tires elsewhere. She is very professional, and nice at the same time. I also have dealt with Kathy with my business, and I get the same great service each time! Thank you Kathy!

An unexpected breakdown on a 500+ mile road trip turned into the BEST customer service experience. Headed North for wedding, our tire unexpectedly burst just before the Ringgold exit and we coasted on a rim and a prayer into Walter Jackson Chevrolet. The service manager, Marty, explained that he didn’t have a tire in stock that would fit the bill, but he promptly hopped on the phone to North Georgia Tire to find me one. In the mean time, a kind, dog-loving sales person – Todd Ingle – took pity on my family, including my son and my dog, waiting outside in the 90 degree Georgia sun and invited them into the showroom to cool off while we sorted things out. A dog! In the showroom!
The team at Walter Jackson went out of their way, driving me and my flat tire all the way to North Georgia Tire to find a suitable used tire, then back to the dealership. The service department installed the tire I bought at North Georgia, and sent us on our journey with best wishes and refusal to take payment, tips, or anything at all but a thank you. This team of folks truly made a difference in our lives, and we could not be more grateful. Our next car purchase will come from them (even though we live nowhere near there), and yours should too. What amazing, wonderful, caring folks. Thank you Danny, Marty, Todd, and everyone else who wished us well and made sure we left town safely!!!

Hi I have had a great experience with the service department. Once I was told by another dealer I needed a battery but that dealer did no have a battery , so I went to prince and I did not need a battery , the ends just needed tighting up. They were very busy on a friday just before closing but they did not rush me. It was very nice so I called today for a oil change. They were again able to work me in and took their time to check everything. They drove me back to work and the price was lower than quoted. The driver was very friendly, (sorry I didn't get his name). The service man on the phone and in person was very friendly and helpful. The only thing, It was raining when I picked up my car and it was not pulled up under the sally port for me. I will recommend this place and I will be back again. Thanks Nancy

Good Morning, for the most part I really enjoy seeing some of the faces at the dealership like Mr. Dan and Mrs. Minnie. However, I’ve not been satisfied with the quality of services. My dissatisfaction comes from quality of work, wait issues, rude employees and wait times. I’ve spoken with the customer service representative, Lindsey, who was really rude over a mistake that was made on her part. The two service department specialists that actually write up everything even heard her because I had her on speaker. It was about my tires not being ordered. Additionally, when I called and was transferred to the service department, I can never talk to the service specialists because she wants to handle the information yet doesn’t know the answer and when I’m transferred they don’t pick up or never return your call even when multiple messages are left. Secondly, I didn’t know that shuttle transportation could only take you a certain distance so the little fellow gave me attitude and was like “I didn’t know you lived this far because I’m not suppose to come this far”. How was I suppose to know? Thirdly, I don’t mind waiting but if I’m going to be there more than 5 hours please don’t give me attitude if I ask for a ride or need transportation to get from point A to point B. Lastly, I received some half xxx service, excuse my language, from the techs either they forget to do something as simple as resetting my oil life back to 100% or adjusting the tire pressure to something major as leaving off an oil cap and I’m only realizing it was off after check engine light came on and oil was everywhere. Luckily, I didn’t blow up the car and still praying I face no issues in the long run. I was even told I would have to pay for the hood blanket at one point, which was a lie! Hopefully, things will get better or I’m going to have to find another certified GMC- Chevrolet dealership out of town!

Scheduled appointment to have a diagnostic ran on my 2018 Chevy Colorado because the transmission shakes like it is about to fall out. Decided to have oil change completed at the same time since I was going to be there. When I arrived I was told that I needed to basically make an appointment for the transmission issue, even though that is what i did. I now have to come back for the transmission to be diagnosed. If I had known this I would have had the oil changed at a quick lube location and the transmission serviced by a dealer who actually lets you make an appointment and honors it.

Driving from OH to FL, I got a flat tire outside of Dalton, GA. While trying to change the flat tire on my GMC Yukon XL, I realized that I did not have a key for my lug nut lock. So, my car was towed to a tire place. The tire place, unfortunately, was unable to remove the wheel. They recommend I speak with a GMC dealership and pointed me to Edd Kirby. When I arrived to Edd Kirby, I was directed to one of the mangers (Eric). Eric was so very helpful. He first drove me from Edd Kirby to the tire place in an effort to try various lug nut keys. When the lug nut keys did not work, Eric drove back to Edd Kirby to get a new set of tools to remove the locked lug nut. When we returned the tire place for the second time, Eric was able to remove the locked lug nut. No charge. The tire place changed my tire an hour later and I was back on the road. Eric and the Edd Kirby group were so dang helpful. Great service. Great hospitality.
