I am extremely disappointed with my experience with - Wisco91
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Baraboo Motors and feel compelled to share serious concerns regarding their business practices and attention to customer safety.
I purchased a 2024 Ford Escape Platinum, and within just 2.5 weeks, the vehicle developed significant suspension issues. Upon inspection, it was determined that the lower ball joint pinch bolt/nut had not been properly fastened — a critical safety component. As a result, the vehicle was deemed unsafe to drive back to the dealership for repairs.
Despite providing Baraboo Motors with detailed documentation and repair receipts, they refused to take responsibility for the issue or reimburse the $1,500 in repair costs directly caused by their apparent negligence. Instead of prioritizing safety, I was asked to sign a liability waiver simply to drive the vehicle off the repair shop’s lot — an alarming request given the severity of the situation.
Even more concerning, Baraboo Motors insisted that the unsafe vehicle be driven back to their location rather than arranging to retrieve it themselves. This demonstrated a disregard for customer safety in favor of convenience, which is wholly unacceptable.
The post-repair inspection results further revealed that the vehicle should not have passed the safety inspection prior to sale. Nonetheless, the dealership represented the vehicle as fully inspected and compliant, including in the exact area that required immediate and substantial repair.
When I attempted to address these issues directly and professionally, the dealership refused to acknowledge any responsibility or shortcomings in their mechanical work. The lack of accountability, transparency, and basic respect shown throughout this experience has been deeply disappointing.
Based on this experience, I strongly urge others to exercise caution and consider alternative dealerships. Customer safety, integrity, and accountability should be non-negotiable — and unfortunately, my experience with Baraboo Motors fell far short of those standards.
