No hassling, no smooth talking. Gave us the truth and nothing but. They weren’t just there to sell a car. They truly wanted to give us a good deal and make sure we left satisfied. Service department scheduled a recall repair, then tried to upsell for other repairs. They did not call or text to say the truck was ready. Dropped off at 7:30 am, finally went to service department to pick up truck, it was done at 3:00 pm. I left phone messages and texts prior to going back, and asking when it would be done. Receptionist called after I had already picked up the truck. First time at this service department and most likely the last.

I purchased a Certified Used 2016 Ram 1500 pickup from Marlow Motor Company on March 16, 2024. The vehicle was purchased at 80,000 miles. Since that time I have had two service appointments at Marlow Motors with oil changes, tire rotations, and inspections. I have had the battery replaced, replaced the serpentine belt, replaced the CPCH and valve-purge control, and spent $970.50 in parts and labor along the way. Then, on March 3, 2025, after just over 10,000 driving miles in the first year, I was due for inspection. I confidently returned to Marlowe for the inspection thinking that since the purchase of a Certified Used Vehicle, regularity of service and inspections, and just over 10,000 miles of usage in the first year, I would pay my $20 for a successful inspection and be on my way. Some time later while in the waiting room, I received a text telling me that my vehicle had failed inspection and that there were 5 items that "required immediate attention" to the tune of $1683.58. Fourth on the list of these items was "Replace Rear Brake Pads and Resurface Rotos." A service representative soon joined me in the waiting room to further explain that it was the brakes that had failed inspection. The first three items on the "requires immediate attention" list included brake fluid exchange service and four-wheel alignment, and differential service. The fifth item was "replacing cabin air filter" which I was pretty sure did not "require immediate attention" in relation to a state inspection. I asked the service representative what it meant to purchase a Certified Used Vehicle and he mumbled that everything is in working order and safe. When I queried how the brakes of a Certified Used Vehicle could be deemed unsafe with only 10,000 miles of usage, I was told that the inspector did not look at my purchase and service history. I told him that I had lost trust and confidence in Marlowe Motors as my service shop and how disappointed I was in that I was planning to continue my service with them for the vehicle, but now simply wanted my vehicle returned. They had lost me as a customer. For the cost of $22.87 and a failed inspection sticker in my windshield, I went to another local state inspector, paid my $20 and passed inspection. Lesson learned.

The process always ruins my excitement, and I feel exhausted & beat when I’m finally handed the car key. This review is for the service dept. Debbie stack is AWESOME! Not only did this dealer take care of all of the issues i had with the car but they also did the state inspection and updated the software for free. Debbie is very professional and kind on the phone. She called back every time i left a message, even if there wasnt much to say. When they finally did the warranty / out of warranty work on the car it was done in just a few days and she invoiced it out immediately so i could pick up the day it was done. The work the dealer did was also spot on. Very clean, everything they touched looks brand new and untouched. Excellent workmanship! Thanks again for the awesome service and i'll definitely be coming back if i need anything else.

My truck almost left me stranded on the highway. I got it to Casey Chevy in Newport News and they told me they couldn't even look at it for 3-4 days. I then called my preferred service dealer Ken Houtz where I've been going for almost 10 years and Mark said if I could get it to him, he'd have it looked at by the end of the day so that's what I did. I then was having trouble getting a ride home and Dave was so awesome and gave me ride home. Before I was able to leave the dealership Tyler had already looked at my truck and gave me recommendations in which I said go ahead. Friday, they had my truck back in service. Outstanding work by the Ken Houtz Service team. I will no longer even try to go anywhere else. Thank you very much to Ken Houtz Chevrolet!! -Scott

When I visited the Lease Return Center I was pleasantly surprised of the dealerships inventory, organization, and neatness.Jason , in sales was expecting me and it was VERY busy inside. I was amazed at the way every employee worked so well together . Jason had the car I was interested in brought from an inventory lot, placed a dealer tag on the car and said enjoy a great test drive. From my first "hello" to Jason there was NO doubt he was very knowledgeable,helpful,and a genuine person. Although the result of that day didn't make the sale I continued calling regarding the car. And Jason always took time to talk to me and explain any questions I had It was my reluctance and in NO way anything to do with Jason that I shunned any forward progress. On March 1,2024 Jason in the finance department contacted be regarding purchasing the car. I returned to the dealership and again was greeted with the utmost friendliness and respect spoke to Jason in sales and the sat down with Jason in finance.I made an appointment to revisit on March 6, 2024 to close the deal on the car. Yes so far this has been a long review, however please continue. When I met both Jason's on March 6, 2024 again a very welcoming and pleasant attitude was there. I sat down with Jason in finance and I was amazed at the many options and choices he took time to find for the best of my deal. If you have got this far in my review I would absolutely suggest you visit the Lease Return Center take a look at the inventory ( no vehicles in bad order ) and begin a car buying experience you will enjoy and certainly not soon to forget !!! Andrew is my service advisor and he does a great job. I had to work with Destiny on my Saturday service and wasn’t thrilled about working with her. I dropped my truck off with Andrew and we went over the services I needed to get, he understood I would be back the following month to get the brake fluid flushed. No pressure with Andrew. Destiny tried upselling services that I already went over with Andrew and selling services that was completed before I left Texas a couple months ago. Not sure if the mechanic really looked at things but just tried to upsell un needed services. After telling Destiny I didn’t need these services and the others I had discussed with Andrew about getting them done the following month she said my truck would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived almost a hour later just for her to tell me she is busy with 4 other ticket before me and I would have to wait in the waiting room. She never came and got me so I went to inquire if she was done. Really wasn’t happy with this service experience. Tires were rotated but the pressures were not check as they were off between 5-10psi. I hope my next experience will be better. I gave a decent review because Andrew is very helpful and not pushy.
