Horrible customer service!
I drove 4 hours round trip yesterday to look at a Jeep and worked directly with Sales Manager Gary, GM Niko, and Anthony. We spent over an hour going back and forth and ultimately agreed on a price. I was approved through financing, but they only had one finance person working on a Saturday, so we couldn’t complete the paperwork that day.
Anthony and Gary both told me they would call me later so we could finalize everything over the phone and sign documents at delivery. I specifically asked whether I needed to leave a deposit, and Gary told me that would not be necessary. Anthony even said he had the keys and had already moved the Jeep to the “sold” lot in the back.
I never received a call. When I followed up the next morning, I was told the three people I had worked with were off, and the manager on duty, David, informed me they had sold the Jeep to someone else later that night. His only response was “our bad” and that this “happens a lot.”
That is extremely disappointing after driving 4 hours and being told the vehicle was secured. If Lindsey Automotive does not have adequate finance staffing on busy days, that should not become the customer’s problem—especially after a price agreement and financing approval.
If you are not local and can’t sit in their waiting room for hours, be cautious. Based on my experience, verbal commitments and assurances that a vehicle is “sold” may not actually mean it’s being held for you. Customer service did not feel like a priority here.
