We have been loyal customers of Riverside Metro Auto - jimmycsalas
We have been loyal customers of Riverside Metro Auto Group since moving to Riverside, and
over the years we’ve completed several transactions here. My wife initially leased a Nissan
Leaf, I drove a Tiguan, then she upgraded to an Ioniq 5 while I moved into an ID.4. Most
recently, my wife leased a brand new 2026 Ioniq 5.
I typically handle my deals via email or text due to a busy schedule by choice and I truly
appreciated working with Raymond. He understood my situation, was accommodating, and
made the entire process seamless by communicating with me through text. We agreed on
pricing and terms ahead of time, which made things efficient. Our experience was something
to remember. I think what we can rescue out of this experience is working with salesman
Raymond. I will be brief in my review.
We arrived at the dealership, we encountered unexpected issues. There were complications on
our end related to my wife’s credit application which she forgot to unlock, but despite that, we
had a clear: three months of no payments and a fixed monthly rate. When we met with the
finance representative, Adam Sahawneh, the numbers presented did not match our agreement,
and we decided to leave.
As we were leaving, another staff member encouraged us to come back and work things out
(wish I can remember his name) After regrouping—especially considering my wife was already
annoyed and upset. For this my wife is an EMT she works a 12 hour shift and she is a nurse
student. So for everyone that can relay. She was done for the day. and is student. We returned
and reached an agreement again. We finalized the paperwork and left believing everything was
settled.
The following day, we were contacted by Adam and told we needed to sign a new contract.
This was concerning, as both parties had already signed a dealer agreement. Which in my
understanding is a legal document. I am not a lawyer so please I shout to all the attorneys to
enlighten me. Then I asked to speak with the General Manager, Gil Qaqish, the conversation
was cut throat and unfortunately unproductive. We spoke for less than 2 minutes and I can say,
how in the heck did he become a GM? I was told firmly that I needed to sign a new contract or
return the vehicle immediately. There was no effort to discuss or resolve the situation
collaboratively. Sir, I have been pushed around by people like you. You are just another bully on
the bunch nothing else, nothing more. I did not appreciate you talking down on me. You need
more training in how to treat clients and your own employees. As a fellow leader we are here to
coach and teach. Not to threat and command with fear.
At that point, trust became a major concern for my wife and I.
Raymond, however, stepped in once again. He listened, showed empathy, and genuinely tried
to help. He worked to renegotiate terms on our behalf and ultimately presented a revised offer.
While it was not identical to the original agreement (changing from three months to one month
of no payments), we appreciated the effort and decided to move forward.
If it were not for Raymond, we would have walked away entirely.
In summary, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is an excellent electric vehicle, and we are happy with the car
itself. However, our experience with finance and management was disappointing and impacted
our trust. If you choose to visit this dealership, I highly recommend working directly with
Raymond, as he was the one consistent professional who made a positive difference in our experience.
