I bought a new Prius in 2012. I've come here for nearly all my services. Not once have I had a bad experience or have been disappointed. A "triple A" rating to our salesman Al Hunter for his knowledge and patience with the sale. He helped us explore many options until we found the best that worked for us. Al referred us to others who have purchased the same car, so we "didn't have to take his word for it". And worked for the best price for us. Compared to purchases from other dealers this was a very pleasant...even great experience.
Making an appointment with service department is easy and done within a day. They accommodate needs by giving a loaner. They explain everything that was done and willing to answer questions. There were times when they could help me troubleshoot over the phone and I did not need to make the trip in. First class.

I drove 4.5 hours to this dealership to buy a truck. When I arrived the truck was not what I expected and I was irritated. Nate the Sales Manager was very easy to deal with over the phone and fought to get me a good rate and a fair trade in on my Tahoe. I left the dealership immediately because the used truck had too many issues for me (I am very picky about things being mint). Either way I was disgruntled. The General Manager called me the following day to see if they could do anything to make it right or fix the issues with the truck.
I told him I was no longer interested in the truck or driving back out. He went ABOVE and BEYOND to compensate me. Knowing I will most likely not be out to buy a vehicle anytime soon. He still did the right thing because he could empathize with me. Great company.
He has me on a watch list and if he finds me the truck in the right shape....I would drive out to get it because I would like to spend my money with people like this.

We recently had been looking for a late model used Tahoe or Yukon that was flex fuel. I went on line and filled out a questionnaire on car trader or auto trader. I was then contacted by email by several dealers on what they had available. Zach from Decorah sent me a link for 3 different units that he had available. A Yukon caught our eye and I asked for a chance to come look at it. We went and looked at it and Zach was very helpful showing and answering any questions on the unit.
He then showed us the trade price and the price was very fair. we had priced other vehicles and the price was fair. There was no gimmicks,etc- not pushing us etc. Felt like buying a car from a long time neighbor. Zach really did a nice job.

No Minorities - Someone who doesn’t represent me
Walked around the dealership, then got online and viewed their website. For one of the largest dealerships in the state, you wold guess that they would pride themselves on diversity. True to form neither in person nor on their website did I find one person of color. They obviously dont believe in diversity. Why wold I spend one penny where I was not represented? I will make a point to tell everyone I know not to shop there.
HORRIBLE Autobody "Service" - katherineh
I have to tell all you ladies about a funny story. The truth is that it was probably the worst time that I’ve had in my somewhat short life, and I feel being a young, 23-year-old woman “caused” this; based on us traditionally, and actually, being taken advantage of and run over by car dealerships.
I bought my brand-new car last year from Edwards Subaru, and I won’t go into the sales aspect which amazingly got me more off on my vehicle, when my father helped by stepping in at the end. Why the difference??? They didn’t say.
My greatest pain came when I experienced hail damage, like the rest of Douglas County. I checked with my insurance company and after consideration chose the place I bought my car from so that it would be “done right”. That was a miserable mistake. I will apologize in advance as this paragraph will run long to get everything in…so if you’re already bored, you get the idea; skip to the next paragraph. If you’re masochistic, here it is: I brought the car in for them to look over the damage and compare it to my insurance companies invoice. I was told I would get a call by the end of the week to schedule when I would bring it in. I patently waited a week and a half and upon not receiving a call, I called them. I was informed by the manager that "they had no record of me coming in and I'm sorry we must have lost it, can you bring in another copy?" I obliged and was finally given a date to bring it in to be worked on and turned it over. They told me that it would be done in two weeks. I asked for a loaner car but they said they only have a few and won't give them out for that long term, which is ok. I left and figured I could walk for a couple weeks. The rest is ALL bad.
I called every few days, after the allotted time they stated and was almost always given a run around or poor excuse for why the work was moving at a snail’s pace. To further enrage me when I called, the manager would tell me she didn't know what part of the process my car was in and that she would go "check" and then give me a call back. Never once did I receive a call back until the day my car was finished. Then, finally, after a month and a half the call I made that morning was actually returned and my car was finally finished! I went in to pay and signed their invoice copy that stated the amount due, which was $2,400 more than what the manager was saying I owed. I asked twice if my bill was completely satisfied and they said yes and handed over my keys. Once again, these idiots had totally screwed up. I simply held the money aside and waited to see how long this process would take. In speaking with my father, we considered donating it to charity and then making them take it back from some battered youth home, which they may have done, but he told me to just put it aside and pay when they finally did their job! I’m in my last year of law school, I wasn’t about to get in trouble for this garbage. I did have some fun and waited a week to get back to them as thanks for the way they treated me. Lastly, to boot, I found out when I got home that they did a poor job around my door handles…it’s spotty…I will attach a dated picture.
Well that’s my love affair with Edwards Dealership and their “Service” department. Please do me a favor and find another place to buy a Subaru (which I absolutely love) or have your car repaired!!! There are many other dealerships within 20-100 miles that will hopefully treat you like one of their own daughters, not the horror that I found there.

Never buy a car from Bob Brown - hall4jrs
I will never buy a car from Bob Brown again. I purchased a used car in November and heard a noise in the steering wheel ( heard the noise when I was testing driving it). I was told that it would be fixed before I picked it up. So the next night when I went to pick it up I heard the noise again and called my sales guy right away and told him and he said to make an appoint with the service guys and they can look at it again. The day I took it up there the noise was not there and so they couldn't fix it. So it went a few day and then I started hearing the noise again and again. So at my oil change they told me I need new filter(which made me upset and they gave me a credit) and that my power steering was leaking and that could be what causing that noise and to make an appointment up at the service area. So I did and it wasn't a power steering leak it was a gear and going to cost me 1200.00. So I spoke to the manager and he said he would pay half. I said that is not right as I heard this noise when I first test drove and bought the car and it should of been fixed then. So I wrote a review out here. The sales manager wasn't happy with me so he bullied me and said "that if I didn't take the review down they would not fix my car for free." So I took the review down and they fixed it for what I thought was no charge, but instead come to find out when I went to my next oil change that they had used my credit from the filter towards that job. To me they didn't fix it for free. Also the car when you stepped on the gas was hesitating and giving you a slight whiplash a lot but not every time so when I took it in they could never find what was going on cause it would never do it for them. I will never buy from Bob Brown again, for the way I was treated I have taken my business somewhere else and gotten rid of that car. I want to let everyone know so if you have been treated like this please share as that should never be how you treat a customer. Thanks and have a wonderful day. CREDIT CARD SCAMMERS! - AtheOrganizer
DANGER! Reported this dealership, Mike Molstead Motors, to Iowa State Credit Card Fraud Division this morning - gave our credit card number as downpayment on a truck. Received a phone call almost 20 hours later that our truck had been "accidentally" sold to someone else but not to worry, they had not run our credit card. Where did that information go if not into a credit card processing program?!? And where is our truck!!!
