3.5 out of 5 stars! I had Denver Studebaker. I went in to look at a used Malibu and maybe trade in my old clunker. Denver was very knowledgeable and friendly and the whole experience was pretty low stress! They listed the car just around KBB's fair market price and it was as advertised, a great purchase! I really appreciate that Rydell gives you a fair bottom line price right from the start. I was dreading having to fight a dealer to not get ripped off. They also gave me a fair price for my old car and worked hard to get me great financing.
5 out of 5, I would definitely go back the next time I am shopping for a car! You may be asking yourself, "why did he say 3.5 out of 5 at the beginning then?" That was just a joke, and I made sure to tell them this too: Talk to the powers that be and tell them Rydell needs to open a dealer in Des Moines! We could use a great bottom dollar dealer!

As always, another wonderful stress free experience at Brown's in Elkader. The salesman/staff were very accommodating. The vehicle I was interested in was at another dealership so they had it driven almost 2 hours to the Elkader location just so I could test drive it, that same day. The salesman was very knowledgeable of the vehicles history and specs, even though they had just received it and they stayed an hour past closing time to close the deal and send me home in my new Truck. Got the vehicle I wanted, at the price I wanted with friendly service and a free tank of gas to boot.

I've taken my vehicle to two other shops in the DSM area before choosing this one and neither were as efficient and friendly as Gregg Young Chevy in Norwalk. I have used their shop many times for everything from body work, to oil changes to most recently a tire replacement.
Yesterday my wife was driving me to work and we got a flat tire within minutes of being on the road. Without a spare, and having three other balding tires we drove in to the service shop as they were opening. Cory saw the urgent situation as my wife and I carrying two young children were in need of assistance. I told him that I needed four new tires and I really needed them today. He took care of us and assured my wife and children that he would have the car in great shape in a matter of hours. He even offered my wife a loaner vehicle and when one was not available offered to shuttle my family home. We got our car back later that afternoon and we can't say enough about how well the department has taken care of us, not only this time but everytime. Thanks for the awesome service!

Went to Shottenkirk to test drive a Chevrolet High Country. Tiffany (sales person) knew I was on my way but when I arrived she could not be found. I tried to call her and no answer. One of her sales associates (Derek) tried to text her and no response. So I stand outside waiting for 20 minutes and when she finally shows up she wants me to come in and sign papers before I test drive a used vehicle "because that is Shottenkirks policy". I immediately left without a test drive. I bought a 2017 High Country from Karl Chevrolet. Thank you Kyle Kocak for not making me feel like a criminal and your polite service and great pricing.
For those that don't know, Karl is the #1 certified preowned dealer in the US, 10 years running. This means they have exceptional vehicles on the lot.
By the way at Karl, the doors are unlocked, keys in the vehicles and the salesman was quick to say would you like to take it for a drive. Thank you Kyle !

Well guess what, I was told this vehicle wasnt an auction vehicle and that it was a local trade. This truck had been on the lot for 5+ months. I didn't understand why. My salesman said I don't know why it has been here so long either.....B.S. Well when I received the title in the mail it was from a lease company that the lease was turned in and Karl cheverolet bought it at the auction. It was from Michigan. So..... not a local trade and it was an auction car. Now I see why it was on the lot so long.I called Karl cheverolet up and had a discussion with them about what I was told and the truth of the vehicle came out when I received the title. They said I could trade it back in for another vehicle, they were going to give me $3000,00 less than what I bought it for 3weeks earlier and I only put 1200 miles on it. I guess Karl cheverolet is becoming just like any other car dealer. No matter how many vehicles you buy from them they will do whatever they can to unload an unwanted vehicle on a many time repeat buyer. Karl Moyer, I am amazed at how I was treated and such a misleading deal that Was made to get old inventory sold. I sure wish you would read these reviews, maybe you would sell more cars when you correct these type of sale antics.

I drove from Ankeny because Molstead had the exact Jeep I wanted. I worked with Kelly Molstead via email on the deal for the Jeep and my trade in. When I arrived at the dealership, the Jeep was exactly as represented and the process of purchase was a smooth experience. All the numbers were just as agreed on through email. Salesman Bruce Boerschel completed the transaction with us and was very thorough in sharing the highlights of the Jeep we purchased. The finance person (sorry, I do not remember his name) was friendly and thorough, and did not try to pressure us into add on sales. Overall this was a great experience.

I found the vehicle I was looking for here; and the salesman was nice and low key until the finalization.
Sales manager and finance guy told me that I since I had my Credit Union financing the sale, I had to write them a personal check once the CU put the funds into my account.
I thought this odd. They sent me home in my trade in to get a personal check! Fortunately I called my bank about halfway home and they clarified that the money would never touch my hands; and I returned and drove my car home.
I called a couple of days later to verify that they received the funds, and there was no "how do you like you vehicle" or any courtesy follow up about my satisfactions with my experience there. Indeed the sales manager who sent me on a wild goose chase for the personal check had trouble even remembering who I was. I got a decent deal. But the shenanigans with the financing and sending me off in my trade in on a sixty mile round trip was shady. And the lack of follow through guaranteed that I wouldn't recommend them.

I will never buy a car from Bob Brown again. I purchased a used car in November and heard a noise in the steering wheel ( heard the noise when I was testing driving it). I was told that it would be fixed before I picked it up. So the next night when I went to pick it up I heard the noise again and called my sales guy right away and told him and he said to make an appoint with the service guys and they can look at it again. The day I took it up there the noise was not there and so they couldn't fix it. So it went a few day and then I started hearing the noise again and again. So at my oil change they told me I need new filter(which made me upset and they gave me a credit) and that my power steering was leaking and that could be what causing that noise and to make an appointment up at the service area. So I did and it wasn't a power steering leak it was a gear and going to cost me 1200.00. So I spoke to the manager and he said he would pay half. I said that is not right as I heard this noise when I first test drove and bought the car and it should of been fixed then. So I wrote a review out here. The sales manager wasn't happy with me so he bullied me and said "that if I didn't take the review down they would not fix my car for free." So I took the review down and they fixed it for what I thought was no charge, but instead come to find out when I went to my next oil change that they had used my credit from the filter towards that job. To me they didn't fix it for free. Also the car when you stepped on the gas was hesitating and giving you a slight whiplash a lot but not every time so when I took it in they could never find what was going on cause it would never do it for them. I will never buy from Bob Brown again, for the way I was treated I have taken my business somewhere else and gotten rid of that car. I want to let everyone know so if you have been treated like this please share as that should never be how you treat a customer. Thanks and have a wonderful day. I gave a 4 star below as the problem did get fixed so the quality of work was good.
