**Signed Purchase Agreement, Credit Run, Financing - fdelamora
**Signed Purchase Agreement, Credit Run, Financing Secured, Then They Sold the Truck**
Extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience with Fred Beans Ford of Boyertown.
I'm an out-of-state customer from New Jersey, approximately two hours from this dealership.
On October 21, 2026, I spent considerable time negotiating the out-the-door price of a 2021 Ford F-250. We went back and forth from my initial $38,200 offer until finally agreeing on $39,500, including all taxes and fees.
The dealership prepared a purchase agreement, and I received a copy signed by both the buyer and its authorized dealership representative.
We proceeded with financing through our credit union. This involved a credit inquiry for preapproval, additional paperwork, securing the funds, and obtaining cashier's checks. The salesperson even told us exactly how to make the checks payable, and I sent photographs confirming that we had the funds ready.
I also rented a car for our scheduled Monday pickup.
To be fair, the dealership explained that it doesn't accept deposits or hold used vehicles in advance. I offered a $500 deposit, but they declined. We were told they would check availability Saturday and could hold the truck for our Monday arrival if it remained available.
Yet the transaction continued. On Friday, they sent five videos of the truck, confirmed our financing arrangements, and asked what time we would arrive Monday. I gave them our arrival window, and the salesperson replied, "Sounds great."
Then, on Saturday, October 24, we were informed that someone else had purchased the truck.
When I questioned this, I was told the signed buyer's order was only provided to help with financing.
What made this situation even worse was the communication and lack of professionalism afterward. No apology, no meaningful effort to make things right, and no offer to work toward a reasonable solution. We were simply sent two links to other trucks, as though everything we had done meant nothing.
I subsequently emailed the sales manager explaining the situation, documenting our expenses and financing efforts, and requesting a written explanation and reasonable resolution. As of this review, he hasn't even had the professional courtesy to respond to that email.
That level of communication from a sales manager is astonishing. I can understand a vehicle being sold under a no-hold policy, but I cannot understand management's complete lack of accountability or even a basic acknowledgment of a customer's complaint.
We spent days negotiating, had our credit run, arranged financing, obtained cashier's checks, exchanged documents, and rented a car for a two-hour trip, only to have the truck sold to someone else.
I understand the dealership's no-hold policy. What I don't understand is how it handled a purchase agreement signed by both parties, allowed the transaction to progress this far, and then failed to make any meaningful effort to address what happened.
A signed purchase agreement should mean something, and a customer who has invested this much time and effort deserves more than two links and silence from management.
If you're buying from out of state, be extremely careful. Before arranging financing or making travel plans, get a clear explanation of exactly what this dealership considers a binding purchase agreement.
The entire experience, particularly the handling of the complaint by the sales manager, has been completely unacceptable.
