I had a very disappointing experience at this dealership with a salesperson named DJ. When I went in to discuss a trade-in for my vehicle, they offered me $48,000. I countered with a request for $53,000, which I believe is reasonable given the current market and a cash offer I had already received elsewhere.
DJ returned with a paper in hand and rudely said, “You paid $53K for this vehicle a month ago and now you want the same price? It doesn’t work like that.” I told him that I have every right to ask for any amount, and he can simply decline it—there’s no need to be disrespectful. I even pointed out that a vehicle’s value has nothing to do with what I originally paid. Just because I bought it for $53K doesn’t mean it’s unreasonable to expect a fair trade-in if that’s what it’s worth today.
When I showed him a competing cash offer of $51,000 and said I’d make a deal at $51,500, he snatched the paper out of my hand and asked us to leave. His behavior was completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
I reported the incident to the sales director on the spot, but he remained silent and offered no apology or resolution. Now, two days later, both the same salesperson and the director are texting and calling me saying they’re ready to make the deal on my terms. I find that incredibly insincere and opportunistic—only reaching out because they likely couldn’t sell their vehicle elsewhere.
Even if they offer me $55,000 now, I will not return. This dealership has lost my trust. Customers deserve to be treated with respect, not dismissed and insulted for negotiating.
