I was in town visiting a friend and my Grand Cherokee - agrossholz

I was in town visiting a friend and my Grand Cherokee started giving codes. Suspected it was the transfer case going out. Took it in to get the official diagnosis, which I paid for. I was right, they said I need a Tcase. When I went to pick it up, it was stuck in 4wd Low. Ran inside to get some help with that and the techs said, we didn't cause that. The service writer agreed with me that I couldn't have driven it there in 4wd low. I was told "It needs a transfer case. I don't know what to tell you". I told the service writer how to manually put it 4wd Low and he told me that If I knew how then I'd better do it. I had to have my friend drive me to get tools and fix it. Bottom line, If I wasn't a little mechanically inclined I would have had to either pay their $4500 estimate and had it fixed there, or I would have to have it towed out of there. When I drove it in!!! I ended up getting it back in AWD in their parking lot and took me maybe 10 minutes.

When she explained the car was unsafe and asked about towing or a loaner, he was rude, unhelpful, and hung up on her, telling her to “go somewhere else.”

My car has been in their shop for months. There is zero communication. I have been told over twenty times that I will get my call returned, but it’s never the same day most of the time not even the same week. I have been given every excuse under the sun about the warranty, Chrysler, waiting on parts, employees being out sick….. you name it. I have NEVER got a straight answer. I had collision repairs done at this location previously in Oct which took weeks but at least they were accommodating and kept me in the loop. Not one have the employees at Jeep tried to help me get a loaner or a rental. I have three kids and work two jobs. I had to quit one of my jobs because I had no way to get there. I still do not have a date that I can expect my 2021 Jeep to be ready. I will never return to this location.
