There are car dealerships, there are service departments, - moparman440
There are car dealerships, there are service departments, and then there are places that remind you what customer service is supposed to feel like. I recently had my oil changed at Pettus Auto in Farmington, and what should have been a routine service visit turned into one of the most pleasant dealership experiences I’ve had in a long time.
The experience actually started before I even walked through the door. When I called to schedule my appointment, Celeste handled everything, and she was incredibly pleasant, organized, and accommodating. Scheduling service can sometimes feel like a chore, but she made it easy, friendly, and efficient. First impressions matter, and she set the tone for the entire visit before I even arrived.
When I pulled into the service drive, I was greeted right away by Jason. No waiting, no confusion, no wandering around wondering where to go. Jason got everything checked in quickly, explained what was going to happen, and made the whole process smooth and professional. You can tell when someone knows their job and enjoys helping people, and Jason clearly does both.
After the service was completed, Hanna handled the finish side of the visit, and she was just as friendly and professional as everyone else. What really stood out to me was how well the whole service team worked together. There was no confusion, no miscommunication, no “let me go find someone.” They operated like a team that communicates and supports each other, and as a customer, you can feel that. The entire process from scheduling, arrival, service, and checkout was seamless. That doesn’t happen by accident — that happens when a department is run well and people care about what they’re doing.
While I was there, I also needed to visit the parts department. I was greeted by Mark in parts, who was friendly and helpful right away. Shortly after, I spoke with Steve, the parts manager, and between the two of them, we made sure I got the correct part ordered. Again, just like the service department, the parts department was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. No hassle, no pressure, just helpful people doing their jobs well.
And then, as if the experience wasn’t already good enough, the dealership was grilling food that day for customers. Not only did I get great service, but I also got a great meal. That was a really nice touch and made the whole visit feel more like stopping by a community event than waiting on an oil change. Good service and good food — that’s a combination you don’t find just anywhere. I’m not going to lie, I may try to schedule my next oil change when they’re grilling again.
From start to finish, this was a great experience:
Great scheduling with Celeste.
Great service check-in with Jason.
Great checkout with Hanna.
Helpful and knowledgeable parts department with Mark and Steve.
And even a great lunch thanks to the grill outside.
Most businesses can do one or two things well. It’s rare to find a place where every department you interact with is friendly, professional, and organized. That usually means there is good leadership, good teamwork, and people who care about customers.
If you need service, parts, or anything automotive-related in the Farmington area, I would absolutely recommend Pettus Auto. The people there made a routine oil change visit into a genuinely enjoyable experience, and that says a lot about the kind of operation they run.
I’ll definitely be back — especially if I hear that grill is fired up again.
