Accomodating of VW TDI Settlement Owners - Jay
Although Crown Hyundai is not my local dealer, I decided to work with them because my sales consultant, Sanja Danicic, was very sincere in conversation and she was not a stereotypical salesperson. She gave direct answers to my questions and did not add in the usual fluff that I get from most salespeople, and she is very personable.
I owned a Volkswagen TDI that needed to be sold back to VW in connection with the diesel emissions settlement. This situation presented two major difficulties in shopping for a replacement vehicle.
1. VW does not pay owners until roughly a week after the vehicles are turned in. As a result, most people cannot make a down payment on a replacement vehicle and are left without a vehicle for a week.
2. Anyone who is not replacing their VW diesel with another VW will need to rent a vehicle to get to the dealer they are buying from if no one is available to give them a ride.
I had serious concerns about the logistics and I did not believe any dealer would sign a deal without having the down payment in hand. However, Sanja quickly laid my concerns to rest. She worked with the manager to reach a deal that we could sign the day I returned my TDI to VW despite me not having my down payment in hand due to the VW timing. She also arranged a complimentary loaner so I would not be without a vehicle during the week I was waiting for the VW payment.
Sanja went way above and beyond the call of duty, even driving two hours in her personal vehicle to pick me up at VW and bring me to the Hyundai dealer to sign the deal. There are very few people in the world who will do that. I am well aware that I was a very difficult customer to accommodate due to my unusual situation with VW. Sanja’s hard work made the transition very smooth and easy for me, and I am grateful for that.
I highly recommend Crown Hyundai to any owner of a VW TDI affected by the diesel settlement who is considering a Hyundai for their next vehicle.

My sister and I took our brother Terry car shopping yesterday. Terry has battled throat cancer and won, but the last 4 years have been hard, and he has not had a decent vehicle. He ended up in a brand new Hyundai from Allen Turner. It was the easiest car buying experience ever! Terry is on disability and very limited resources. We told Jason the top dollar he could afford and he took us to the Accent. Terry is very low tech, and did not want a lot of bells and whistles. He test drove the Accent and loved it! He's 6'1' and his biggest concern was that he would be comfortable. He fit in fine. But we told the Jason that we wanted to look at other cars, and he gave Terry a print out of his price for the Accent and sent us off to roam the rest of car city. No high pressure, just wanted us to compare honestly. But he couldn't find the quality or the price, or the attitude they have at this dealership. No high pressure at all! Needless to say, Terry is very happy! My sister and I have both bought new cars, and never had an experience this easy. We both agreed, this is the only dealship we will every go to. Thank you for making this so pleasant for Terry. The 4 years have been so rough on him, but last night he was like a kid talking about his "Brand new car!" No pressure, quick paperwork, great cars at a great price and the best coffee bar in town! Thank you Jason Diaz!!

My story is a bit unique.......Bruce Henley contacted me a month or so ago regarding my Sonata 2014 that I was leasing; he invited me in as preowned inventory was low as they were interested in my car. Long story short, I went in; met Bruce and Kale for the first time; they made me feel welcome and they were very impressed with the condition of my car; I really take pride in my vehicles; they are always clean, and service records up to date. What was very attractive to both Bruce and Kale, was that I only had less than 20,000 miles for a car that was only going to be 3 yrs. old end of Oct. However.....therein lied the issue; the dealership had recorded a 36 month lease; I actually had a 39 month lease; it was a bit early to negotiate; so Bruce said he would be in touch with me. Fast forward to 1/28; had a car accident; (i am o.k. ).....but the vehicle I hit was much larger than mine.....I can attest to the strength and protection of my airbag.....but my beautiful 2014 Sonata was declared a total loss; there went my wonderful tradein!!!. After things calmed down, I called Kale who reassured me I had gap insurance; when the time was right and convenient, my dealership would be happy to help me get in a new vehicle again. January 16th, Bruce picked me up from my appt.; I had had total knee replacement on 1/30 and could not drive (could anything else have happened!); we went to his desk and within an hour, we established a new Sonata for me; Bruce had encouraged me to act while the Presidents Day Sale was going on. Now.....in came Debbie Greene who was simply amazing!!! Bruce had worked up some good packages; but Debbie went to work and I can see why she is the Finance Director. She was very sensitive, that while I did have money to put down, I was also on leave from work, and was not getting a full paycheck.....and probably will not be getting one for 2 more months. Debbie worked her magic, and got me in my beautiful new Sonata for no money down and the same car payment I had before and was comfortable with! She also worked with the speed and efficiency of a little tornado! Because I still cannot drive, Bruce coordinated with my to deliver my new car to my home tomorrow and go over all my features. In summary, I am extremely pleased at the efficiency and sensitivity to my unique situation; and I give Bruce, Debbie, and Kale through the roof "high fives"!!! Warm Regards, Margaret (Margie) Kubala

I absolutely love my first ever new car, a dazzling white 2017 Tucson Sport Hyundai. At 65, a single female, and a technophobe, I finally faced the dreaded showroom experience out of desperation. I arrived on a walker with hip replacement surgery the next week -- my unique needs were pinpointed and assessed beyond my wildest expectations. Imagine a compact SUV with a telescoping driver's seat for pre and post surgery and yet with sporty looks and a roof rack for my Yolo board post-recovery. My fabulous Tucson has top safety ratings with all kinds of bells and whistles that were so beautifully explained both in demonstration and on delivery that even this veteran technophobe could glory in them one short day later.
