The television ad said that 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe's were $13,900. I called once and they said they had a bunch of them and they were $13,900 plus tax, tag and dealer fee. Great! Then, we looked them up online and noticed the dealer had some other complaints from people, so we were a little suspicious, and my husband called again. They said yes, the price is $13,900 plus tax, tags, and dealer fee of around $689 and they have about 40 of them on the lot, all colors. Great! Before we drove the 3 hours there, we just wanted to make sure, so we called one last time to verify. My husband asked specifically, "are there any other stipulations? Is there anything else that would make it cost more than $13,900?" (we had read that there were tricks like once you got there, you might have to be military to get this pricing, or some other requirement) The answer was no, the price is $13,900 plus tax, tags, and dealer fee. We talked to Chad each time on the phone. When we arrived, a salesman came out and we told him we had talked to Chad. He said Chad just answers the phone, and he took us to look at one of the Santa Fe's. On the way, we asked him again about the price. He said, well the price includes $3000 cash or qualifying trade in. So, there WERE stipulations which they flat out lied about over the phone. When we pointed out that they lied over the phone 3 times and should have told us about the additional $3000, he brought over a newspaper ad that showed that info. We told him that that was not the ad we saw (it was a tv ad) and that they had 3 opportunities to tell us over the phone, which we asked SPECIFICALLY about, and they lied about it. They didn't apologize nor try to fix the situation in any way. We left. Now we will know to ask, "are there any cash or qualifying trade in requirements to get that price?" However, there could be other stipulations (like you have to be able to balance on your head for 3 hours) that we won't know to ask about. We will not give any business to this dealer, no matter how great the deal is; but if you do, good luck!
