My experience with Victor at Wantagh Mazda was hassle free. His professionalism and no pressure approach were welcome and refreshing changes from what I experienced in the past, what I expected this time, and what I received at some other dealers. I was updated on all facets of the car buying process on a timely basis. Victor was willing and able to locate the model, color and options I wanted on my CX5 at another dealer. He graciously picked it up for me at no cost. I am recommending Victor at Wantagh Mazda to my relatives, friends, and neighbors.

What started out as a very good experience has turned very sour. I purchased a CPO Mazda from Matt Maclean sight-unseen based on his description of the vehicle. Overall I am happy with purchase and the entire remote purchase process was very easy. I was told that the less than 3 year old car with 17k miles was in perfect condition without any blemishes and was freshly detailed and waxed by their dealership. I purchased the car for asking price, plus I paid for cost to ship it out of state to my home. When the car arrived, it appeared at first glance to be exactly as described but upon closer inspection, the paint was oxidized and scratched from prior car washes and there was mild curb rash on the right rear wheel. I washed the car and could tell that it had not been waxed in a long time. I also found a 6" scratch in the windshield that is directly in the line of sight of the driver. I called the General Manager, Jesse Cicione, and explained my findings and disappointment that the car was not waxed and detailed as promised. I also told him about the curb rash and scratch in the windshield. His response was that his detail department is the best in Rochester and that I could not be telling the truth about the condition of the car. I had my professional detailer evaluate the car and confirmed that it had likely not been waxed for over 1 year and definitely not in the preceding few months. Fortunately he was able to buff/wax the car, remove the scratches and now it looks like new. The scratch in the windshield is improved with buffing but still present. The curb rash will still need repair. I asked Jesse for reimbursement for the work I had done on the car to bring it to the condition that it was supposed to be when I purchased it. He refused and called me a money grabber. I have purchased several cars sight-unseen in the past and have usually been very happy with the process as long as the vehicle was well represented and all questions about condition were answered honestly. I very specifically asked about the cosmetic integrity of the car and asked for a detailed list of blemishes and was told there were none. Had Jesse just agreed to reimburse me for my cost to detail the car, this would have gone from a 2 star experience to a 4-5 star experience. Unfortunately Mazda of West Ridge and its management do not seem to care about their online customers enough to accurately represent their cars and stand by their promises.

Arrived at this dealership to pick up a car I had been discussing with Adel Brea, one of their sales associates, via phone and email. She answered all of my questions, called me back when she said she would, and even sent me everything we discussed in writing along with an attached offer. Adel connected me with Nikki Barboni, who is one of their sales and leasing consultants. Nikki was a consummate professional, which allowed us to get through all the paperwork quickly. I've heard horror stories of people spending all day at the dealership but this was not the case. She really made my family and I feel at home. When it came time to pay for the vehicle and we couldn't make the payment the way we wanted to, she offered nothing but solutions, which I really appreciated. Lastly, the service I received from the business manager Luis Olivier was awesome as well. He was very precise and made sure all the I's were dotted and T's were crossed. He made sure we understood all the financing for the vehicle by going through the contract page-by-page. He never rushed us, and only asked for signatures once we were comfortable enough to do so. Because of these three individuals, I will be referring as many people as possible to this dealership. Thank you for doing right by us!

I've been a long time customer of another car dealership in the Rochester area. I've always found them to be honest, fair, was easy to deal with. However, when I went to West Herr Mazda I was amazed with a sales team that was focused on getting me the best deal and making sure that I was happy with the vehicle choice that I was making. As part of the process, I asked to meet with the service folks. Both of the service managers that I met were amazingly friendly, open and honest. The finance person made things easy. The gentleman who sells the dealer aftermarket things like the warranty and the ceramic coating was clear and concise about the options but did not push them them or try to sway me in either direction. If you are looking for a place to get an honest and fair deal from West Herr is a great dealership to do business with. When I walked in I wasn't sure if I was going to buy a vehicle or not. However, once I made the decision to purchase the vehicle, West Herr was able to prepare it and have it ready for me by the end of the day.

We took our Mazda 3 here to have it's 60k mile check done. We knew a few things would raise there attention but a good test of their service is will they see it and tell us. No they did not. No mention of the battery which could use changing and we've been told this by two other sources, and this was not one. One set of rotors need changing as my other set was replaced a year ago, no mention of this. And my kicker, I changed my oil to synthetic about four years ago and most places ask what type of oil since synthetic is becoming much more common. This place didn't and we failed to let them know (yes we admit failure) the mechanic never noticed and we didn't think about until we got home. I had to return after the holiday to have this changed at my expense because they took no fault. About $200+ later And we got a headache, two oil changes and the coolant flushed (supposedly) do not take your car here!!!

I cannot say enough good things about the service department. They are outstanding, excellent and go above and beyond. My Mazda CX-5 would not come out of park. I am from out of town and needed to get back home for personal reasons. I was able to get an appointment with them in a quick time frame. They took care of me as if I was family to get the parts needed to fix my car in a very short time, which I know is hard to do in this day and age. They kept me informed every step of the way! Hopefully something like this won't happen again, but if it does, I know where I can go for outstanding customer service in servicing my vehicle. Mazda Customer Experience specifically directed me to work with service manager Wil Smith to coordinate a Mazda-initiated oil consumption test — a warranty matter. I left three separate voicemail messages on three different occasions. He never called back. Not once. This isn’t a minor inconvenience. A warranty process stalled entirely because a service manager couldn’t return a single call. Eventually, the dealership withdrew from the test altogether with no explanation. If you’re dealing with anything beyond a routine oil change — especially anything warranty-related — know that when it actually matters, this is what you can expect: silence. Mazda corporate confirmed the situation in writing, which tells you everything about how normalized this behavior is at this location. I don’t leave reviews lightly. Three voicemails over multiple occasions with zero response is not an oversight. It’s a pattern.
