had a very disappointing experience at Audi of Brooklyn - louscarpelli
had a very disappointing experience at Audi of Brooklyn on Hicks Street. While traveling for business in NYC, I brought my vehicle in for a flat tire and also asked them to check a warning light related to the safety sensors.
I was told the vehicle needed a $2,500 calibration and that the issue may have been caused by a front grille sensor being out of place due to impact. This immediately raised concerns, as I had not hit anything and saw no visible damage when dropping off the car.
Uncomfortable with the explanation, I declined the repair but was still charged $271 for the diagnosis. Afterward, I reviewed the intake photos taken by the dealership, which clearly showed no damage or misalignment to the front grille sensor.
When I brought this discrepancy to the service manager’s attention, it was never properly addressed despite multiple attempts.
A few days later, I took the vehicle to another Audi dealership near my home, where the issue was resolved at no cost. I was also told that even if calibration had been required, the $2,500 quote was excessive.
I returned to Audi of Brooklyn to request a refund of the diagnostic fee and provided the requested documentation. Since then, I’ve received little to no response, and my follow-ups have gone unanswered.
Overall, the experience felt poorly communicated, lacking transparency, and below the standard I expect from an Audi service center. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before approving any major repairs here.
