The representative I worked with is Whitney Foley. She is top-notch. We picked a unit from Colorado. I arranged a test drive so that mechanic could inspect. I placed a financing loan with USAA. At every step of the way she was knowledgeable, prompt, thorough, and pleasant.
Whitney was kind enough to provide her cell number. This was essential because my several attempts to reach her through the Carmax telephone number were extremely unacceptable. Several calls were unsuccessful. When I asked the computer voice for Whitney I was supposed to be switched to a voice message. Instead I got no one at all, or was disconnected. On one call placed through that number I did reach a human at the store on N. Oracle in Tucson. A woman told me that Whitney was unavailable and tried to switch me to another sales person who "I'm sure can take care of you." Nothing like internal poaching on clients or customers!
The store itself was outstanding. I came to view a wide variety of inventory units so that I could choose one. The inventory was large and varied.
The purchase processing was very prompt and efficient. I worked with two persons, whose names I do not know. One was a man who helped "walk" the papers to finance. The other was a woman in finance who did the processing. Both were excellent.
The unit was as advertised. It is in excellent condition. It was very clean.
When I accepted the vehicle it only had one ownership manual .
The main manual has 496 pages of fine, single-spaced print. It is nearly unintelligible. I am trained in both engineering and law. I know how to read technical manuals. This one is a woeful failure.
It turns out there are two manuals. The second one, "Mazda Connect" was separate. It covers all of the electronics, auto function monitors, communications and audio. It is 220 pages long. It is similarly turgid in its attempts to explain itself.
However, I am extremely pleased with the vehicle. And the professional assistance I received from Whitney is a big reason why the overall experience was a good one.
I would use Carmax again. But I sure hope you fix your communications problem! Michael J Meehan
