Let me start by saying that I am not one of those people who likes going car shopping (but then again, who is?). I have had multiple bad experiences at car dealerships.
I had nothing but the best experience at Lumberton Honda. I told Angela over the phone that I was not 100% sure I wanted to buy a car and she assured me that there would be no pressure, that I would be treated like family.
They didn't disappoint. Kalena was my salesperson and she was very patient with me through test driving 3 cars and negotiating my payment down to something I could live with. I got more for my trade than what it was worth (a lot more, my old car was special in all the wrong ways). I got a 2016 Ford Fusion SE with Ecoboost with leather interior that I LOVE. I have never loved any car I have ever owned before.
Lumberton Honda is worth the drive.
16 Fantastic Years - Lidror
I bought my tan Acura MDX in 2001 and am sorry to report that 230K miles and 16 years later, I am in the process of donating my wonderful vehicle to a local nonprofit. For 16 years, the fantastic folks at New Bern Pecheles ALWAYS went out-of-their way to treat me fairly, keep me happy, and keep my car going through life's ups and down, including several expensive (and life-altering/life-threatening) challenges.
I would love to report that I will be purchasing a new Honda, but (unfortunately) "common-sense" and parental obligations recently "won-out" after I inherited a newer vehicle that is a different make and model, but since I am already missing my Acura (and that great Pecheles customer service), I can't wait to contact them when I'm ready to experience "that new car smell."

I inquired through email about a certified car they had listed on the website. Unfortunately that car had sold the day before. They asked about my requirements and said they would try to locate something that would work for me. The sales manager, Christian, was who I was corresponding with the most. I found one car in their network that I was considering but it was on the other side of the state. I am about 2.5 hours away from their dealership in the first place. Christian offered to get the car transferred to her dealership and personally deliver the car to me! I contacted 5 or 6 dealerships, none of which were less than an hour away. This is the only one that even made this offer. I decided to go with a different car from an out-of state dealership but I would definitely consider using this one in the future!

The personnel in service are super. They are courtious and willing to help in any way. This trip was for normal service but just recently on my way home after surgery a light came on the dash, I stopped and they did not waste any tme in getting me back on the road. When I got out of my car this time the service advisor asked how I was doing. Could not believe that he remembered. It made my day. Would not go anywhere else.

I emailed this dealer about a certified car listed on their website. They are a couple hours away from me so I don't have the luxury of just swinging by the dealership. One of the sales staff responded to my questions but told me that they have a few other people interested in the car so I better hurry up and come test drive it. I asked for the "out the door" price. They responded with a final price that seemed about $800 more than it should have been so I asked for a breakdown of the fees. I was told that it included the tax, tags, title, registration, doc and document fees. Some of this seems a little redundant. I again asked for the breakdown and found out they were trying to charge me $800 for a new cupholder and interior panel, whatever that is. Shouldn't a certified car already have an interior panel replaced if it needed replacing? Then I was told that this car was already at auction at this price so I better move fast or the car wouldn't be in the inventory very long. I may not be a dealer but I'm pretty sure cars don't sell at auction for full retail price. I decided to skip this dealer and ended up buying from somebody else.

I went back to the Honda showroom after a year of buying my car. The car had a small scratch that I wanted to fix. Billy was so kind and readily asked his guy to fix it with no extra cost. It took about 10 minutes to fix it but another car service asked $200 to fix the same thing. Billy is amazing and he bends backwards to make a customer (new or old) happy. It is so rare to find a business and a manager who are honest and not try to squeeze every penny out of the customer.
