Over the past month, my wife and I have visited over a dozen dealerships, including several Toyota locations, in search of the perfect vehicle. Our experiences elsewhere were less than ideal, ranging from aggressive sales tactics to being asked to discuss numbers before even test driving a car. However, our experience with Gonzalo Hurtado at Gettel Toyota of Lakewood was a breath of fresh air. Gonzalo introduced himself in a calm and respectful manner, guiding us to the vehicles we were interested in and helping us compare options without any pressure. Waste of time, looking at Vinfast cars. They didn’t tell us we need a 800 credit score to get approval for the car. We not only got our credit pulled for myself but was told I need a co signer… so they also got the credit pulled. This was one the third visit. We don’t even live in the same city as the dealership. Make sure they tell you everything up front and get approval from a bank before they waste your time.

🚩🚩🚩The worst experience ever!! They sold me a car with a broken transmission , took my trade in and never made the payments until it was sold a month later with out telling me now the bank wants that money from me. 🚩🚩🚩

I found the vehicle I wanted on line and set up a test drive with Harold two days later. The car was ready to go when I arrived. It turned out the car didn't exactly fit my expectations. There was no pressure to buy it and Harold showed me other possibilities. I did test drive another, but decided I would keep looking. There was no attempt to dissuade me and I left feeling pleasantly surprised. I would certainly go to Gulf Coast again if I was in the market for one of their vehicles.

BUYER BEWARE. I made the mistake of buying a 72 El Camino from Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa online. I'm pretty sure they had an office-wide belly laugh afterward. Their pictures were of course all slick, shiny, and pretty. They didn't bother to disclose the paint had major orange peel until it was already on a truck headed my way. Then when it got to my house the driver gets it off the trailer and into my driveway. I sign the bill of lading, and he takes off. I proceed to take off in the direction of a car wash and made it all of 150 yards when it dies. I had to have it towed to a garage. They found that the carburetor was junk and completely flooding so badly that the crankcase was full of gas. After a new carb, it was still cutting out and backfiring. They found that the electronic ignition was wired incorrectly. That had to be fixed. Then I find out that even though it was advertised as having air conditioning, it did not work. So to date I'm out an additional $1300 not to mention upcoming air conditioning work, and paint job. I haven't driven it ten miles yet. If you choose to look at one of their cars, do so with a very critical eye. As a matter of fact I would advise you to look elsewhere. I envision all of these guys sitting around in cheap polyester plaid suits.
