I brought in my brand new 2024 Toyota for its first - drlovesunshine
I brought in my brand new 2024 Toyota for its first scheduled maintenance, and the car was in perfect condition prior to the service. Immediately after the maintenance, the headlight completely stopped working.
We contacted the service department right away, but they claimed that the issue was caused by rodent damage that "coincidentally" occurred at the exact same time as the maintenance. Despite the vehicle being under a two-year warranty, they refused to cover the repair.
At first, they quoted us over $700 to fix the headlight. After lengthy discussions, they offered a so-called "favor" by giving a discount—bringing the cost down to over $400, which is still completely unacceptable for a brand-new vehicle under warranty.
As a result, I had to use my husband’s car to commute to my job at the hospital, while our two young children had to walk home from school with him for over half an hour. This situation was both disruptive and stressful for our entire family.
This experience has been deeply disappointing. The service department was dishonest, dismissive, and unprofessional. I brought in a perfectly functioning vehicle for routine maintenance and ended up with a major issue that they refused to take responsibility for.
