I gave Lakeland Hyundai’s service department multiple opportunities to correct this before posting publicly. They failed to do so. For context, this is not my first serious issue with this dealership. About two years ago, I had a tire replacement done here that was not mounted properly — something that could have become a dangerous situation. I chose to give them another chance. That was clearly a mistake. On March 11th, I brought my 2023 Santa Cruz in for routine maintenance and a wheel balance due to a vibration at highway speeds, which I paid for. The vibration was never fixed. When I returned on March 30th due to the vibration still there, I was told the issue was “flat spots on the tires” and “warped rotors.” Based on how the vehicle is driven, I questioned this diagnosis — but the dealership proceeded anyway, and put these through my tire and wheel warranty that I purchased. After replacing rear tires and machining rotors, I was then told none of it fixed the issue. Therefore, there are now two fraudulent claims on this warranty. My vehicle sat at their dealership for over a week with minimal communication. Eventually, I was told the issue was resolved after another balance. It wasn’t. The vibration was still there immediately. At that point, communication stopped. No meaningful follow-up and no resolution. I then took my vehicle to another Hyundai dealership. Within ONE day, they identified and corrected the actual problems: The rear wheels — which Lakeland Hyundai had just worked on — were not balanced at all A TCM update previously attempted by Lakeland Hyundai was not completed or registered properly So I paid Lakeland Hyundai for a service that was not performed, while unnecessary work was done that did not address the issue. What is most concerning, however, is the documentation. My service records from Lakeland Hyundai include statements I never made — such as claims that I reported tire issues and brake pulsation. These false statements appear to have been used to justify warranty-covered work that I did not request and that did not resolve the problem. At best, this is grossly inaccurate record-keeping. At worst, it raises serious concerns about potential warranty fraud, as work may have been documented under false pretenses. I will be reporting this to the appropriate warranty provider for review. Additionally, my vehicle was returned with a new dent on the hood, and despite contacting management and ownership directly, I have received no response or resolution. This was not a simple mistake. This is now a pattern: improper work, misdiagnosis, incomplete repairs, lack of accountability, and serious concerns about the integrity of their documentation. I will not return, and I strongly advise others to be cautious when trusting this service department.

I have loved my 2019 Sante Fe xl. At 100k miles, it immediately started having issues. When I went to pick it up after a $1300 service bill, the vehicle was not fixed. The dealership has had the car for over a week and is currently throwing their hands up as to what is causing it to idle rough and want to sputter out at stops. I have to say, I have loved the vehicle, but the service department has been a disappointment from the get go. They have terrible scheduling and, although I think they have tried to improve their service team, Though Tristan has tried, I have had service managers in the past that were nothing short of rude and condescending. Some of the employees are extremely awesome and go the extra mile to help, but mainly the service department leaves a lot to be desired.

My granddaughter found a car online at Wallace Hyundai in Fort Pierce, so we visited the showroom and test drove the vehicle. We liked the car and decided to move forward with the purchase. Before proceeding, we made it very clear that our monthly payment limit was $300 and the loan approval was $15’000 and that we had already secured financing through MidFlorida Credit Union. After some time, the salesperson returned and told us that MidFlorida had declined the loan due to the final purchase amount. This did not make sense to me because we had already spoken with MidFlorida and they had confirmed the loan was approved. Despite this, the dealership proceeded to run my credit 4 times and arranged financing through one of their lenders at a significantly higher interest rate PNC BANK. The monthly payment exceeded our limit, but my granddaughter agreed to proceed because we had been told MidFlorida declined the loan. We signed the paperwork and were informed the car needed some work before it would be ready for pickup, although the specific repairs were never disclosed. The next day, I contacted MidFlorida directly to understand why the loan had supposedly been denied. To my surprise, they informed me that the loan had actually been approved, but they did not approve the add-ons included in the deal because they exceeded their 20% financing limit. This information had never been disclosed to us by the dealership. We had no intention of purchasing these add-ons, especially since they pushed the total beyond what MidFlorida had approved. I immediately contacted the dealership and requested that the loan be rewritten using the MidFlorida financing we had originally secured. My granddaughter and I returned to the dealership to sign the revised paperwork and pick up the vehicle. During the meeting with the finance representative John, we discovered that the insurance attached to the loan required either my granddaughter or myself to be listed on it. When I mentioned that I was unaware of this requirement, the finance representative John responded by saying “it’s just common sense.” Regardless of whether he felt that way, making a comment like that to a customer in the middle of signing documents was unprofessional and disrespectful. There are much better ways to explain requirements to customers. Unfortunately, the issues did not stop there. BEFORE leaving the dealership, my granddaughter discovered that the sunglasses holder in the car was broken and informed the sales rep about what she found and he dismissed it by saying they usually focus on the exterior of the car than the interior, which is “cosmetic”. When she contacted the sales manager Marcus, she was told they were not obligated to fix it, but that if she wrote a good review and showed it to him, he would repair it. That felt extremely inappropriate. Reviews should reflect the customer’s genuine experience, not be used as leverage for repairs. I am very disappointed with the service at West Palm Beach Hyundai. I paid $171.46 for a routine oil change on my Elantra, which is already a very high price, but the quality of work was unacceptable. They overfilled the engine with oil, exceeding the maximum limit. This is a basic task that, if done incorrectly, can cause serious engine damage. It shows a complete lack of quality control. My service advisor was Marc Frometa (Invoice #613756). I will not be returning and I strongly advise others to double-check their vehicle after servicing it here.

Very negative experience with the finance department at Rick Case Hyundai Plantation I want to share my experience during the process of purchasing and financing a vehicle at Rick Case Hyundai. Unfortunately, my experience with the finance manager Paulo Grandez was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional. Throughout the entire process, Paulo Grandez repeatedly tried to push additional finance products that I had clearly declined from the beginning. On several occasions he attempted to condition the deal by insisting those products “had to be included” in the contract. Because of this situation I had to review and sign three different versions of the contract, since products I had already rejected kept being added again. The most serious issue occurred when Paulo Grandez ran my credit with four different banks without any real need, even though I had clearly stated that the financing would be done through Hyundai Motor Finance. These multiple credit inquiries directly affected my credit score, which should never have happened since the financing option was already defined. This situation is even more frustrating considering my previous experience with the brand. I previously purchased a Hyundai Santa Fe 2024, which turned out to be defective and required a full transmission replacement. Later, I purchased a Hyundai Santa Fe 2025, which also developed transmission problems and eventually became a Lemon Law case. Because of this entire process I was left without my vehicle for approximately 47 days, which directly affected my work and daily activities. During that time I had to accept an inferior replacement vehicle. Despite all of this, I want to recognize two people who did act professionally. Sales Manager Nick Tagle was one of the few individuals who showed transparency, professionalism, and respect throughout this difficult situation. From the beginning he tried to handle the problem in the most honest and transparent way possible and made a genuine effort to help manage the situation and find a solution. I would also like to recognize sales representative Joel Beltrán, who was respectful, patient, and attentive during the entire process. If anyone decides to visit the Plantation location of Rick Case Hyundai, I recommend asking directly for Joel Beltrán, as he genuinely tries to help customers. Even though the transaction was eventually completed, my experience was very unpleasant. The final interest rate ended up being almost twice as high as the rate I had previously secured with another financial institution, but due to the complications related to the Lemon Law case, I felt practically forced to accept it. For all these reasons, I hope Hyundai Motor America reviews this situation and takes appropriate action regarding how Paulo Grandez handles customers, since this type of behavior damages customer trust and leaves a very negative impression of the Hyundai brand.
