Incompetent and/or fraudulent. **Do NOT use this dealership even if the individual car is good.** You have been warned.
I bought a used car (45K miles). They did not give me its tags, registration or the title to the lending company for 3.5 months. They gave me two (not one) temporary tags and registration; the last one expired July 4, 2026. I had no tags/registration for 1.5 months until mid August, and could not drive the car I was paying for all that time. It was a severe hardship to not have a car for 1.5 months.
I called multiple times, emailed, used the form on their site, and had Kia Corporate call. Over a period of 5 days. No one would call me back or talk to me.
I asked Kia Corporate to call them, and surprise surprise, the dealership talked to them. Kia Corporate told me that the dealership said that the previous owners didn't give them their papers and "there was nothing they could do about it."
I had to get NJMVC & NJ Attorney General involved, plus write a certified letter. Only after the dealership got a notification from the state did they somehow remember how to contact me.
When they contacted me, their main concern was telling me how incompetent their dealership was.
Here are their excuses:
1. They never read their emails
2. Their phones are 'dinosaurs' and don't work.
3. No one told anyone anything and no one in the entire dealership had any idea what was going on, even though I called the dealership multiple times and left many messages, emailed, sent in a form, had Corporate call, and talked to several people, all who said they'd have "the managers" call me back. No one had any idea!
4. The title and tag people are corporate and are terrible and never talk to the managers.
5. I should have contacted the sales manager directly on his private cell phone. If only I'd done that, he'd have helped me.
If this is boring you, imagine how I felt having to deal with this b.s. for multiple hours while not being able to use my own car for 1.5 months. Who knows if they'd ever have resolved it if I hadn't gotten the MVC and Attorney general involved.
Other than paying for a rental for 3 days, they offered nothing else to compensate me for not being able to use my car for 1.5 months.
