As a single woman who owns two BMWs—both purchased from Park Ave BMW—I’ve always been treated with respect, professionalism, and genuine care. Unfortunately, my experience at Edison BMW was the complete opposite. On Saturday, June 13, 2026, I hit a pothole, and my run‑flat tires couldn’t save me. I had my BMW towed to the nearest dealership, which happened to be Open Road BMW in Edison—about an hour from my home. After arriving around 1:30 PM and checking in, I was immediately told they were short‑staffed and would not be able to fix my vehicle until Monday. I was also informed that they had no loaner vehicles available until mid‑July, meaning I would have to figure out my own way home. During check‑in, I explained to Katelyn—my assigned service contact—that I had purchased BMW tire and wheel insurance through Park Ave BMW. Instead of reassuring me, she told me she was unfamiliar with the coverage and had “never heard of it.” That comment alone left me unsettled. I trust BMW as a brand, and hearing a BMW employee dismiss BMW‑issued insurance did not inspire confidence. Later, she informed me that even with my insurance, I would still owe $102. The issue wasn’t the amount—it was the lack of clarity, support, and professionalism throughout the process. Because of the FIFA World Cup and the NY Knicks Championship celebrations (Go NY, Go NY… Go!), traffic and surge pricing made Uber rides extremely expensive. A trip to pick up my car would have cost over $100, so I planned to return on Saturday, June 20th, when fares would be more reasonable. Before I could do that, Katelyn texted me stating that I would be charged $150 per day in storage fees if I didn’t pick up my car by 2 PM the next day. This was after the dealership had already been paid $484.76 by my insurance, and I still owed the $102 balance. Again, it wasn’t about the money—it was about the complete lack of empathy, flexibility, and customer care. In short, I left this experience feeling sad, frustrated, and deeply disappointed. I truly wish I had never had my car towed to this dealership. I miss Park Ave BMW and the level of service they consistently provide. Edison BMW made me feel like my business didn’t matter, and that is something I will not forget.

Wanted to take a moment to mention the experiences I've had with my service advisor, Anthony. I purchased a BMW from a different dealership not affiliated with them at all. From the first visit, Anthony went out of his way to treat the situation almost as if I had purchased it there. There was never a moment of "this isn't our problem" or "we didn't sell you the car". Everything was professional and accommodating, above and beyond my expectation. You may be able to get work done cheaper with an independent shop, but you will have a hard time matching the experience here. If you have an issue that you can't quite figure out, highly recommend bringing it here. I've been here 4 times now, to the point where I feel as though most places would have gotten frustrated with the situation, but I was reassured all the way and felt welcomed. Keep up the great work! Will Def be back.

I have never been to any dealership where the rebates offered were added to the purchase price before being deducted to get me back to the original price. I was ready to buy the car cash but one of the rebates required financing, so purchase price was $1000 more than offer, Also all Open Road dealerships include a $399 Electronic filing fee on top of the $999 Doc Fee. Trust was gone after rebates added back to price. Beware.

I recently brought my BMW to Paul Miller BMW for an engine starter recall. While my vehicle was ultimately repaired and is working fine, my experience with my service representative, Raul, was extremely frustrating due to a consistent lack of communication and transparency. I dropped my vehicle off Friday and was told I would receive an update later that day or Saturday. By midday Saturday, I had heard nothing. After repeatedly calling, I spoke with Sarah in Service, who informed me that Raul had already left and the dealership was closed Sunday. I was now unexpectedly without my vehicle for the entire weekend, despite initially being told the necessary part was in stock. On Monday, I again had to repeatedly call and leave voicemails before Raul returned my call and informed me that the part actually was not there and the repair would take at least another day. During this conversation, I was also quoted approximately $5,000 for another potential issue without there being a definitive diagnosis as to whether an oil change could be contributing to or resolve the problem. After expressing my frustration, I had to specifically ask what transportation options were available. Only then was I told that if I could get to Wayne before closing, I could receive a loaner. I live in Jersey City, so getting there on short notice cost me approximately $80 for an Uber. Had I been told from the beginning that my vehicle could potentially be there for several days, the loaner option should have been proactively presented. I want to give credit to the staff who assisted me when I arrived. They were very accommodating and provided me with an X5 as a loaner, which I greatly appreciated. I was then told Tuesday would be the latest my vehicle should be ready. Tuesday passed with no update, followed by most of Wednesday. Raul finally called around closing Wednesday to tell me my vehicle was ready. When I returned Thursday evening, Raul was not there, so I never had the opportunity to discuss my concerns with him personally. Thankfully, the other service staff—including the service director and the staff member at the counter—were extremely helpful in locating my vehicle and getting everything sorted out, particularly because some of the information on Raul’s paperwork was apparently inaccurate. My frustration is not that the repair took several days. I understand parts get delayed and repairs do not always go according to schedule. My issue is how the situation was handled. Expectations were repeatedly set and missed without communication, I had to chase down nearly every update myself, and reasonable transportation options were not presented until I specifically asked. If you are having your vehicle serviced at this location, I would highly recommend requesting a different service representative. In my experience, Raul was minimally helpful, communicated poorly, and showed very little empathy or emotional intelligence regarding the inconvenience this caused. I appreciate the other members of the service team who helped me, and most importantly, my vehicle is working properly. Unfortunately, my experience with my assigned service representative was disappointing enough that I will be taking my BMW elsewhere for future service.

I bought my car there, but would not buy another one. The service department has, shall we say, a credibility problem. On 3 different occasions I called to obtain quotes for service work and parts. Each time they quoted me one price, but then tried to charge me a higher price once the work was completed -- even when I had the original quotation from them in writing. Then, they gave me attitude when I actually expected them to honor the prices that they had quoted to me in the first place. BMWs are great cars, but I would never again buy one that was not within BMW's full-maintenance included, bumper-to-bumper warranty period unless I knew a very good non-BMW german car mechanic.
