Very disappointing experience with Maxon Hyundai. - rajendra.patil090
Very disappointing experience with Maxon Hyundai. I visited the showroom with an appointment to purchase a car using cash payment. The deal initially broke over around $600 difference. After that, I never contacted them again, but the salesperson kept calling me repeatedly (6–8 times) convincing me to come back and assuring me that I could get the same car for the agreed price.
After one week, they called me multiple times, confirmed that the same car was still available, and scheduled another appointment while strongly encouraging me to come pick it up at the previously agreed price. Based on their confirmation, I visited the showroom again, only to be told that the car had already been sold earlier that morning because “I was late.” This was extremely frustrating and felt very misleading. Instead of honoring the discussion or informing me honestly beforehand, they immediately started pushing other cars that I clearly said I was not interested in.
Another major issue was pricing transparency. Their website showed a vehicle price around $23K with what appeared to be reasonable charges, but once I visited the showroom, they quoted nearly $28K with additional hidden costs and unclear fees. At one point, I asked a simple question: “If the used car price is higher than a brand-new car, why wouldn’t someone just buy the new car instead?” The response I received was completely unprofessional: “Do you want a new car?”
I interacted with around four different people during my visits, and unfortunately the overall behavior was highly unprofessional. It felt like they negotiate with multiple customers at the same time for the same vehicle, compare offers, and sell the car to whoever pays more, even after discussions are supposedly finalized with someone else. Meanwhile, they continue calling other customers and asking them to revisit the showroom, only to later say the car is sold out and try to push different options.
Also, don’t rely on their gift coupon/reward programs. It felt more like a sales tactic than a genuine customer benefit.
Overall, this dealership wasted a lot of my time. The online prices appear attractive, but in reality, expect significant hidden costs and pressure tactics once you arrive. All their positive reviews seem incentive-based, so I just wanted to share my genuine experience so other buyers are aware before spending their hard-earned money here.
I would strongly recommend finding a better dealership that values transparency, professionalism, and customer respect.
