I was afraid of buying a truck from a car dealer. It had been a good 40 years since I even walked into a car dealership. Why? Basically, car dealers, especially used car dealers way back in the day were kind of unscrupulous. From the hidden problems, to the high pressure and exorbitant interest rates, let's just say I had a bad taste in my mouth that lasted a long time, I need a work truck and I wanted a Ford 350 Diesel 4X4 Super Duty Crew Cab. I had been looking for about 4 months. I looked at CarGuru, Facebook Marketplace, Auto Auctions, Craig's List, Auto Trader and all the other online areas but could not find the right truck for the right price. Through one of my online inquiries, I was contacted by a young man named Comlan Amoussou from AutoNation Ford Katy. He had an F 350 at their dealership. When I heard the word dealership, I immediately was suspect. I spoke with him and after a while my trust level opened up a bit. The subject truck checked all my boxes but I had not physically seen it yet. I asked Comlan to get me pictures of this area and that area and each and every time he complied. I think I purposely was a little hard on him to see if I could detect a bit of xx; but I could not. He simply wanted me to see this truck because he believed in it and believed it was just what I was looking for. Imagine my surprise?! So I saw the truck and drove it with him. It was perfect and the price was fair. I agreed to buy the truck. They of course wanted to provide me financing. This is quite normal. But I wanted my use my bank. This makes it a bit more complicated. Comlan introduced me to Ryan Bernard the Sales Manager and he explained the process that we needed to go through for outside financing and, once again, tried to match my Bank's interest rate. I explained I had been banking with this bank for over 25 years and I was going to use them and, to my surprise, every action after that point was to get 'er done my way. One other thing before I forget, AutoNation Katy Ford puts each used car and truck through an extremely comprehensive review and they really do it. You can ask for that review and it is readily supplied. Trust me when I say, car dealers back in the day would never do that! I have the truck and its perfect.
One last note, when you walk in there are many sales persons and you cant walk 50 feet without being offered some assistance. Now, one may think that is a negative, but this place has many sales persons and you can feel the positive energy/vibes in the air. In other words, they are doing things right and it shows. Kudos to them and they have made me a life-long customer. Steve Gordon
