We had an excellent experience! My husband did a lot or research leading up to our purchase and he was not here to mess around. They understood that immediately. We had picked out a car to try online and our dealer, Dennis Frimpong, had it waiting out front, as well as à right beauty. À navy blue Hyundai Venue with a white top. She was magnificent. Feels like I’m flying AirFrance when sitting in it. (All I’m missing is a piece of Brie cheese). This was our second stop and we still had one more shop to visit but seeing as how I really liked the car my husband asked for the “out the door price” and they provided. We went to the third shop, had lunch, and went right back to Safford to scoop up the Hyundai. Dennis was amazing. I think it was only his second week working there but he was quick to make connections. When I said my name he told me his daughter shared the SAME NAME. Is this true? I don’t know but I was in! Haha. He shared that she was 8 months old and we told him we have an almost 8 month old!!! We had such an amazing time. The mocha was delicious. They provided me (the wife) an iPad so I could watch the USA game (because I’m the football fan in the partnership) while we were taking care of all the paper work. Truly, à 5 star expérience. I would go back in a heartbeat. If you have all your affairs in order they are excellent to work with so I can only imagine how helpful they are if you just walk in and have no idea what you’re doing. Merci!!

"Nice and clean facility with clear communication, but overpriced service." The facility itself is nice and clean, and the staff provided clear communication throughout the process. However, I am not satisfied with the service pricing. I own another luxury SUV that is more expensive than my Elantra. When I’ve had similar services performed at that brand's dealership, the total was actually less than the estimate Hyundai provided. Because of the high cost, I had to decline some of the recommended services and only proceed with what I wanted to proceed at Hyundai. It makes no sense why servicing an Elantra would be more expensive than a higher-end vehicle. While I am happy with the quality of service provided and will continue to visit for certain needs, I will be taking my car to a different local shop for other required fluid exchange services due to these high costs.

I purchased a vehicle from Pohanka Hyundai, Capital - hwalker463

I purchased a vehicle from Pohanka Hyundai, Capital Heights on February 14, 2025, and traded in my 2023 Volkswagen ID.4. The bill of sale they issued has incorrect vehicle information — specifically, the wrong VIN was listed, for a car that is currently owned by my husband and not even in my name. The car I traded in is now registered in VA under the VIN number for the car still in our possession. This isn't a minor typo. Errors like this can cause real problems with registration, title transfer, insurance, and taxes. I flagged it with the dealership immediately and have been trying to get it corrected for over a month. Since then: I've called, emailed, and sent items via UPS a number of times with no resolution. They have not communicated with me, and I am being told nothing. No corrected paperwork has been provided. I have since filed complaints with the MD Investigations Unit, the BBB, the MD Attorney General's Office, the VA Board of Appeals, and Pohanka Hyundai National Consumer Affairs. All of these agencies require at least 30 days to respond. In the meantime, we have a car sitting at home with dead tags that we are paying for and cannot drive, and no one at Pohanka Hyundai is taking responsibility for their own error. If you're considering buying from Pohanka Hyundai, check every detail on your bill of sale before you leave the lot — and be prepared to fight for basic follow-through if something's wrong. A dealership that can't get a legal document correct, and won't respond when asked to fix it, is not one I'd trust with a purchase this size. I'll update this review if/when it's resolved, but as of now: proceed with caution.

If I could give zero stars, I would. We brought our 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe (160,000 miles) to Jones’ Hyundai after the engine suddenly seized due to metal shavings in the oil pan—a known issue that led to a Hyundai recall. We maintained the vehicle exactly per the manufacturer’s specifications, so we assumed Hyundai would stand behind their product. Instead, we learned about the recall after the fact, because Hyundai never notified us. When we contacted Hyundai Corporate, including Niveditha (Hyundai Corp representative), we were told that despite the recall they would not cover the full replacement cost—the best they could offer was a 70/30 split. We reluctantly agreed because we needed the vehicle back, but it felt like we were being held financially hostage over a known defect. It gets worse. Both Hyundai Corporate and Jones’ Hyundai repeatedly referred to the replacement vehicle as a “loaner.” At no point, did anyone disclose that this was actually a rental for which we would be financially responsible. Once our Santa Fe was ready, suddenly we were informed that we were being charged for the rental fees. There is a very clear difference between a loaner (provided by the dealership at no charge while warranty/recall work is completed) and a rental (at the customer’s expense). Referring to a rental as a “loaner” is not a misunderstanding—it is misrepresentation. We trusted Hyundai and Jones’ Hyundai to handle a recall ethically and transparently. Instead, we experienced: Lack of notification on a serious safety recall Refusal to fully cover a defect-caused engine failure Misleading communication about a “loaner” vehicle Surprise charges after the work was completed This has been the most frustrating, misleading, and frankly dishonest dealership/manufacturer interaction we’ve ever had. A recall exists to protect consumers—not to create opportunities to shift costs and play word games. Hyundai had an opportunity to make this right. Instead, they showed us exactly how little they value their customers. We will never go to Jones again for anything, and we will warn others accordingly.
