We were very happy with buying our vehicle from Ed Troike at Brilliance Subaru of Elgin. He was knowledgeable, worked via e-mail and text with me, not pushy, answered our questions, and most importantly he respected our wishes for safety during the pandemic even with masking outside.

Dan Magana was a pleasure to work with. Was quick to provide the photos and vehicle information that I asked for, and was never overbearing in any way. We drove 3 1/2 hours from central Illinois to Libertyville and Dan had our Jeep cleaned, set aside, and waiting for us when we arrived. Test drive, negotiations, and final paperwork all went smoothly. Had us on our way in no time at all. Truely a pleasurable experience.

We walked in this past Saturday never having owned a Subaru and walked away with a new Forrester. This dealership was a pleasant surprise in terms of the ease in purchasing a car, from our great sales person Sheldon to the manager who came out to greet us and a second time as we left to thank us for our business. The gentleman in finance was also really great and explained everything in great detail. We had a price in mind that we had to stay within our budget and Napleton was able to meet our goal! We love our new car and would recommend your dealership to friends.

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Facility is clean and impressive. I’ve traded cars many times over the last 45 years, this is my first Subaru but not my last. My wife is very happy with the Outback. Everything was positive between the salesman Nick and the financial manager. Very impressed by the pre appointment video. Overall we are extremely happy with Marion Subaru.

If i could leave a negative review i would......Never use... - Billuper1
If i could leave a negative review i would......Never use the service department at this dealer! I have a metallic clicking noise coming from someplace in or near my engine. After doing some reasearch i realized there was an open recall on my vehicle related to an exhaust manifold issue. The symptoms of this matched my problem perfectly. I brought the car in explained my situation and was told that the symptoms i was describing would not be due to that recall issue, but they would "take a look." My recall was serviced and i have a report that states they examined everything and fixed the problem....actually stated there was no problem. I would have to pay about $200 for a diagnostic to try to figure out the noise......fast forward, i go to another dealer 40 miles away to have a second opinion. They find the exhaust problem and state NAPLETONS DID NOT FIX OR EXAMINE THIS ISSUE.....had they done what they claimed to have done, they would have seen a clear issue and replaced the parts indicated in the recall. Literal textbook FRAUD by Napletons subaru service department, claiming and documenting work that they did not do. DO NOT GO HERE, if you do, the outcome and safety implications are on you.

took my subaru in for oil change
after picking up, i found that the tires had been rotated-i was speechless, since i had not asked for this work
as a matter of fact, i had the tires rotated and balanced the day before, so this was kind of un-nerving
i probably should have made an issue of it and contested the un-necessary service and charge, but i didn't need the stress
so, your service advisor should ask before doing work

Found a used Kia online and went to this dealership to check it out. Was greeted by Devin. He located the vehicle I was interested in, and we went on a test drive. He let me check the vehicle out good after the drive, and he even helped point out things the dealership had done to improve the vehicle. Devin answered all my questions, was honest and helpful. I'm still in the market, may need a little time to buy, but I will certainly be back here and hope I can buy a car from Devin. I would highly recommend him.

Poor, expensive, rude service. - frankbalboni
Unfortunately - even though we love the Subaru car we have, we have had horrible experience dealing with the service team here.
Phone responses and conversations are consistently rude, service is poor and extremely overpriced. Willingness to fix known Subaru issues even under warranty is very, very low.
Here are some of our experiences to date:
1. Oil consumption issue. Our car was needing 1.5-2.5 quarts of oil added every single oil change. At first they tried to tell us this was normal (even though I complained about it every oil change). After Subaru released a recall/test for oil consumption, they told us that our car had failed the consumption test. Insane. After forcing them to run the test again - they admitted finally that the car was consuming more oil. They refused to refund me the cost of the oil even though we had documentation and receipts.
2. AT/Transmission Oil issue. When driven for 2 hours plus our vehicle regularly lights up with AT/Oil light. After 3 visits to the shop we are no further than the first. The next suggested alternative is that the shop takes the car and drives it for 2 hours until the light comes on to read the code. It has been an extremely frustrating experience.
3. Oil change regularity. Each time I take my car in for service a particular employee would try to badger me into getting an oil change after 5k miles (even though Subaru as a manufacturer recommends 7500).
4. Depending on the employee you get when you phone their service desk you can have a very undesirable/rude experience.
5. Phone surveys - each time we've visited their service center we've been hit by a phone survey almost immediately after. Each time we've indicated that we were not satisfied and would like a return call. We have never received a call.
