Working with him was unlike any car-buying experience I have ever had. Rob’s speed, attention to detail, customer service, honesty, and communication are truly world-class. From the beginning, we talked through the numbers clearly, and he gave me the best deal without any games. He was straightforward, transparent, and most importantly, he kept his word. During my search for the right vehicle, I came across a lot of shady dealerships that changed numbers, added hidden fees, and made the process frustrating. Rob did none of that. He was honest from start to finish and delivered exactly what he said he would. That level of integrity is rare, and it made all the difference. They are quick to take your money, but not quick to properly repair the issues with your vehicle. I called and left numerous messages for Service Manager Julio Ramirez after filing a complaint with Nissan of North America, and to this day I still have not received a return call. However, they had no problem quickly calling me regarding money allegedly owed for a rental vehicle. The lack of communication, customer care, and accountability has been extremely disappointing. When customers are experiencing ongoing vehicle issues, the least a dealership can do is communicate professionally and follow up. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

Extremely disappointing experience at DCH Honda of Oxnard. I scheduled an appointment after receiving an online offer for my vehicle and was also seriously considering purchasing a new Honda Passport. Unfortunately, the entire experience felt like a complete waste of time. Masood Zamani never even came out to introduce himself or properly evaluate my vehicle. Instead, he walked out of the office and yelled across the sales floor from the doorway, "Internet price is coming at $28,000," without even inspecting the car. The interaction lasted maybe 20 seconds total. He made absolutely no effort to engage, inspect the vehicle, or provide any level of professionalism or customer service. What made it even more embarrassing was the reaction from the employees nearby. Even they appeared shocked by how the situation was handled. If the dealership had no intention of actually evaluating my vehicle, then why ask me to bring it in? The entire experience came across as inconsiderate, unprofessional, and reflective of very poor business practices. Honestly, after this interaction, it's no surprise they currently hold a D- rating with the Better Business Bureau. Because of this experience, I will not be purchasing the new Honda Passport from DCH Honda of Oxnard, and I will absolutely be sharing my experience with friends and family. I expected professionalism and respect, and unfortunately received neither.

I had a great experience purchasing a new Subaru Legacy at Subaru of Thousand Oaks. The purchase was facilitated by two outstanding sales people: Mathias and Leena. Mathias corresponded with me to let me know when the car I was interested in came in. Leena demonstrated most aspects of the car in great detail during the test drive with great patience and sweetness. Both Mathias and Leena were very knowledgeable, pleasant, sharp and not pushy (which is very rare among car sales people). I was made to feel very comfortable during the whole process and treated with respect. I live all the way in West LA and they drove the car to my house that same evening, so I did not have to leave my Honda behind in Thousand Oaks. They later followed up to ensure satisfaction. Kudos as well to Rodrigo who authorized the deal and to Jose Magana, the Manager who stepped in to prevent a glitch. This is the type of service you seldom find as a woman buying a car. I recommend them most highly.

I was in the process of buying a 2025 Toyota Camry from this Simi Valley Toyota dealership and they knew I was willing to drive from Seattle to a location in California to buy their car. This is how much I wanted their car. We were in conversation about my trade in and they asked for photos which I sent them and then I don't hear back for 2 days until they just told me that the car was sold. Their response was that their used cars are on a first come, first serve basis and I can understand that for local buyers but when someone from a 1,000 miles away is showing interest and you are in the middle of discussing a trade and purchase, you have to use a little managerial customer service to think about what would be the right thing to do. And yes, most dealerships might do the same thing but if you want to be considered as exceptional in customer service, then you have to represent exceptional values and that means looking at every single customer as a unique customer. As a former global international customer service manager, that's what I taught and what I made every attempt to do in representing the company that I worked for. Customer service does not just happen and it means going beyond a set of values posted on a wall in your office. Cheryl was great to work with but she cannot make these types of decisions.

Buyer beware - All used car prices are $2995 more at the dealer due to a lojack they pre-install and claim they can't remove from the invoice. Also, don't bother unless you are financing your car. I arrived for my appointment at 5:30pm (confirmed all details beforehand, even my payment method to wire the money). I was sat and left in the back room until 7:30pm being told I needed to wait for the General Manager to call back to approve my purchase. At 7:30pm I looked through the window and watched one of my salesman giving another couple a full tour of the car I was there to buy. I found the my other salesmen and asked them directly about it. They said they weren't sure and suggested what I saw wasn't what I saw. They went to the GM's office. Only the salesman who was selling to other couple came back out, made no mention of what I'd raised, and told me the GM couldn't approve the sale because I wouldn't finance. Prices looked good to me online, but honesty upfront that you won't take certain payment methods so people don't waste a whole day at your dealership is a very small ask.

My experience with Inside Car Guys was outstanding, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone having trouble getting approved. I went in with less-than-perfect credit and only a part-time job, but they still found a way to make it work for me when I didn’t think I had many options. Johnny and Rachel really stood out with how much they cared. I didn’t have transportation to the dealership and the bus ride would have taken hours, so they actually came to my home in Ventura and picked me up. That kind of extra effort made a huge difference. From start to finish, everything felt easy and stress-free. They treated me with kindness and respect the whole time, and I never felt judged. The following bait-and-switch occurred on the evening of November 7th. I emailed the General Manager to redress the issue and waited ten days for a response; I still have received no response from John Hautman, the General Manager. It is November 17th. On November 7th, a representative from DCH Toyota of Oxnard named Melany (I’m not sure of her last name because she isn’t listed on their site’s website) reached out to us regarding some online inquiries I’ve been putting out. She asked us if we’d be willing to wait for a vehicle to arrive in December. We said yes as we are in no rush. She then sent me a spec sheet of the vehicle, the type that lists all the packages and fees and such. We sent in an offer for that vehicle, the same offer we’ve had a few other dealerships take us up on. She said, in writing, that she would look into it with her manager (Christian Medel), and then got back to us a half hour later with an offer that was an even better price for us. Here's where the issue begins. I then clarified with her, in writing, that we wanted a guaranteed out-the-door price when we arrived there in person—the offer she sent us—with no potential “bait-and-switch” situations happening when we arrived. I had to be crystal clear about this because we’ve been bait-and-switched before and it’s infuriating. She then responded, in writing, (I have screenshots of this message from her) “You can have our word that nothing will change. Finance will offer things to you because that is their job but, on our end, everything is what we told you. Vehicle is arriving in December and in order for us to mark it sold we need a signed contract with the numbers we agreed upon, and we will also take a $2k nonrefundable deposit.” That sounded great, so I reiterated the offer, verbatim, that she sent me for the spec sheet of the car that she sent me to ensure with crystal clarity that I was not going to show up to the dealership on November 7th with any potential situation occurring where the vehicle I was ordering was in any way, shape, or form different than the spec sheet I was sent. She said, in writing, “Yes, please. Come on in.” We then arranged for a 6:30 meeting time. When we showed up, someone in the front directed us to Melany, who sat us down with a Miguel Alacantar (I’m not sure if it’s Alcantar or Alacantar—Alacantar is what is listed on the store website). Having only known Miguel for the brief time we were there, I’d say he’s an awesome guy with integrity—the kind of guy I would want working in sales because he’s candid with customers and up front about how the fine print of the sale works. With Miguel we came to the head of the problem: Miguel explained that the offer we were given by Melany, approved by her manager, Christian Medel, was not actually the out-the-door price of the car for what was listed on the spec sheet (the price and spec sheet that we discussed, in writing, before coming in so that we would not potentially have this very situation occur while we were there). Sure enough, some of the items listed on the spec sheet are actually “extra,” we were told, because they are installed at the dealership, and we would have to be charged more than the offer we were sent, in writing, if we wanted those items. I explained briefly to Miguel that this was the very thing I was trying to avoid, and that’s why I went to painstaking crystal-clear lengths, in writing, to ensure that this would not happen. He took a few minutes to head to the back to address it with Melany and Christian, and he came back with Christian in tow. Rather than address the concern itself, Christian then proceeded to just reiterate the same thing that Miguel told me minutes prior in the very same words: these items listed on the spec sheet, the spec sheet that we clarified, in writing, was what our offer was for, are extra, and the offer we were sent did not actually include those items, but we could pay extra for them if we wanted. No apologies. Just lies.
