Purchase experience and customer service fail - stevearnhold
Let's start with the buying experience. I utilized their online "Express Checkout" buyers tool because I didn't want to deal with the drama of buying a new vehicle. My wife had picked out what she wanted so I went through their checkout process. I picked the vehicle (it was available), accepted their trade-in allowance, agreed on a down payment, picked the lease payment and the lease mileage, reviewed the order, and submitted it. I received an email from a salesman and scheduled a time to come in the next day to complete the transaction. Sounds too easy right?! Yep! Sounded great until I got there. I met with the salesman and we test drove the exact vehicle I picked, he took a quick look at my trade, and we went inside to do the paperwork. Now comes the fun part. The salesman had no idea I had used their Express Checkout so I started the process from scratch. The vehicle price, trade-in allowance, and lease terms were not what I accepted in my original checkout process. They lowballed my trade and told me the lease terms I wanted didn't exist, yet they were available on their website. At this point I'm irritated and explained to the salesman the process I went through on their website to avoid this mess. I put together a deal and now the deal had completely changed and no one had a clue on how their own sales tool worked.
I decided to leave at this point but was met at my car and asked to come back and they'd make the deal right. I agreed and gave them another chance. Round two. They drew up the contract and I went in to sign. The finance guy hands me the terms and they were wrong. The down payment and payment wasn't what we agreed upon. Here we go again! That's it! I had enough and walked out! This time I'm met at my car by the Sales Manager. He apologized and said they had just rolled out the Express Checkout option and sales was not up to speed on it yet. He told me he would honor all of my original terms and we shook on it. Round three. We get that straightened out and I take a look at the lease terms and that's not what we agreed on. Now I'm vested in this process and I'm just trying to hold myself together. The finance guy goes for help and they finally get the terms right (the ones they offer on their website) and we finish the deal. This isn't over yet....
The next day I'm looking at the window sticker and noticed an option ($650 for running boards) that was part of the purchase price, that hadn't been installed on the vehicle. I emailed my salesman with a picture of the window sticker and a picture of the vehicle I leased and asked him to advise me on what my options are? Here's his response:
Salesman - "Hey Steve. I was off yesterday and just saw this. Let me advise this right away. That's very interesting."
Me - "Here's the pic I took after we test drove it. It's interesting, now what do we do about it?"
Salesman - "I'll make sure we get them on for you. Let me talk to service."
Me - "I'm really not interested in wasting my day having steps installed that I wouldn't have wanted even if they were on there in the first place. What are the other options?"
Salesman - "I will get you the side steps. I can make sure it won't waste your day. Or I can just give them to you and you can do what you want with them."
Salesman - "Did you have any suggestions? I'm definitely here to help you. I understand your situation. Let me know."
Me - "Can I substitute if for something that will be of use to me? I guess you guys need to tell me what you're willing to do to make me whole."
It's been 8 days now and I have not received a response to my last email. If that's how Right Toyota is "definitely here to help" then good luck to any of you who wants to make a purchase or lease a vehicle from this dealer. I hope this is an isolated incident but I definitely won't help them get anymore of my business or any business from anyone I know.

My family has a history with AutoNation that goes back to 1997, and it has not been a traditionally favorable relationship. Unfortunately, my initial experience with AutoNation Toyota Tempe was trending the same way. But it is not how you start it is how you finish, and the team, especially Fabio Ledonne, finished strong. There were issues from the moment we bought the car, and the team at Toyota Tempe, put up with a demanding sometimes irate customer well. It went from hopeless to a great experience when Fabio stepped in. The issue that faced us was a body damage issue from the previous owner. The original dealership did a “Fix” and when it didn’t hold up over the first month, blamed us for the issue. That didn’t sit right with Fabio, he wasn’t discounting what the other store told him, but he also listened and heard the concerns we had as Prius drivers for a number of years. He listened to his gut and went to work finding a solution, and it wasn’t a conventional one. His unconventional solution was one that not only saved the sale, and the relationship with us, but turned me into an advocate for Toyota Tempe. This was a month ago, and I have already pointed 3 different people to Toyota Tempe, specifically telling them to ask for Fabio.

I have purchased a NEW Vehicle along with my trade in @ Anderson and I'm charged for doc fees. i had to go to ADOT DMV to fix everything up (trade in car was still was in my name). My registration was expired and i had to pay for renewal, show proof of insurance, FILL OUT SOLD NOTICE FORM, which finance department is suppose to do these duties. i feel like Anderson has neglected their duties and I'm a very PISSED OFF CUSTOMER.
POOR SERVICE - Trucker
The service department is a joke . I had my engine light come on after changing the battery and getting a oil change at someone other then Toyota . They told me because I didn't use Toyota motor oil thats why the light came on. So I had them change the oil to Toyota oil. They turned off the light and charged me to do that also. The light came back on before I even got home. I took it back and told them about the oil thing and they looked at me like I was nuts,.
I showed them the work order that show that. Then they said we will have to take you motor apart .
I said you guys don't know what your doing and you not touching it again. Took it to ford and traded it in . Don't go to Tim's Toyota if you want good service.
