This review will not be able to capture the awesome - bookem0
This review will not be able to capture the awesome service I received from Evans Chevrolet. My Dodge Ram 1500 pickup had a catastrophic electrical failure while on I-75 near the Wapakonera Ohio exit on Friday July 31,2026 at approximately 2:30 pm. I was stranded at a Shell gas station at that exit and was able to call a nearby Dodge dealer for assistance. They were too busy to be of any assistance even though I had a leased vehicle that was still under warranty and was 200 miles from home in Michigan. I found a phone number for Evans Chevrolet that was nearby and called, leaving a message. They called back within a couple minutes and were able to send a truck and trailer to bring me to their dealership within 15 minutes. After arriving at the dealership just an hour before they would close for the weekend, they arranged for a rental vehicle from Enterprise rentals and had their shuttle driver take us there. We were able to continue our trip with the rental for the weekend as planned, returning to Evans on the following Monday morning to see if the Dodge could be repaired. Despite their best efforts, the parts were not available and it was decided to trailer the truck back to the home dealership in Grand Rapids Michigan, 200 miles away and I would follow in the rental car. This was all arranged by Cody Shaw the service manager with help from Olivia Shaw, the service writer. They contacted the service manager at Fox Dodge and provided documentation to him so repairs could be made after the truck arrived back in Grand Rapids. This all went very smoothly and I have to emphasize again that all this took place at a Chevrolet dealer, not at the Dodge dealer who refused to help. I did pay a VERY reasonable price for the repairs made by Evans as they attempted to get the truck going but were not able to complete it due to the parts not being available. Dodge is having a nation wide problem with the parts in question failing faster than the supply chain can keep up and as I write this, the estimate on parts arrival is anywhere from3 weeks to 3 months!
I can’t say enough about how great it was finding a dealer and the people who work there who would step up and do as much as they did to help me when I was stranded out of state. Especially when my truck was not a Chevrolet. I wish them all the best.
