Shingle Springs Subaru has, hands down, the best customer service experience. Big shout out to Kevin Powell, my internet sales expert that helped me with the purchase of my 2020 Outback. He was so knowledgeable, courteous, hard working and diligent with complying with all of my requests. Even after the sale was complete, he still wanted to make sure I'm 100% satisfied and is always available to assist me with questions or concerns. Brett Brophy made the actual buying experience easy to understand and he was very helpful with recommendations on adding Cilajet and Permaplate to the windshield. All well worth a little extra upfront for the savings I'll get for as long as I own my Outback. And Claire Barnett was awesome in providing me all the initial information I needed to take advantage of all the great features the Outback offers. Our first experience with John Hine Subaru. We have an Ascent that we purchased art another dealership. The entire sales experience was very smooth and easy. We called and spoke with Rodrigo at the end of June. We were looking for a white 2020 Forester. None were in stock so he had one reserved for us which was on order and expected the end of July. We filled out and submitted a credit application for the zero percent financing. Because we qualified Rodrigo reserved the car without a deposit required. Rodrigo called us when the car arrived a few days early. We made an appointment with Rodrigo. When we arrived Rodrigo had the car in front of the dealership and had most of the paperwork ready. Everything went very smoothly and quickly. We met with Jon in Finance and he also was very knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. All in all a very positive car buying experience.

He was attentive and kind from our first interaction at the door, and allowed for a great first time buying experience without pressuring me to make rash decisions. He worked hard to find and bring me the trim and color I wanted after I decided to change my mind from my initial choice. Unfortunately I ended up having some issues with my battery the day after my purchase, but Ben stayed in contact with me continuously until the issue was resolved. After learning of our initial experience, Frank Subaru General Manager Michael Wilkes reached out to us to apologize for our experience, to explain exactly what had happened and to offer to come to an agreement amenable to both parties.
We leased a new 2021 Crosstrek today and the experience was great. Francisco Corral was very professional in finalizing the remainder of the deal and Jacqueline Gutierrez was top notch in the financing process.
We had a rough start but a great finish at Frank Subaru. Their concern regarding our initial experience led them to go the extra mile in making the overall experience a good one.
At Frank Subaru their motto should be “Sorry, mistakes happen”. Last week, my husband had the following experience:
I met with Sales and Leasing Associate Manny Lord after speaking with Sales Associate Denise Rivera on the phone. We arrived at an agreed upon price, upon which he presented me the offer in writing. I texted him the following day to confirm the price was still good and he agreed that was the “out the door price”. Upon agreeing on the price, I stopped working with another dealership on a deal, removed all of my personal items form my lease return and had it detailed. On the same day I returned to Frank Subaru. The hour and a half process continued all the way through them pulling my (excellent) credit report before Sales Manager Truman Berg informed me “sorry, mistakes happen”. Basically the price we gave you in writing was wrong. We had you sit here for hours, pulled your credit report but we are unable to honor our agreed upon price. When Truman contacted the Store Manager, he reportedly replied “tell him sorry, mistakes happen”. When Truman asked me “what do you want me to do” I replied “honor our agreement”. He replied “I can’t do that. Sorry mistakes happen”. Save yourself some time and shop somewhere that doesn’t have the motto “sorry, mistakes happen”.

I just want to give a big shout out for Steve Sharps in the Service Department. We only have our car serviced by Rancho Grande and he is one of the reasons why. We've worked with him on numerous occasions and each time he has been personable, professional and quick to follow up with us on any issues. I hope that he is valued by Subaru/Rancho Grande as much as he is valued by his customers.

But we purchased the exact same car for 1500 less in Fairfield. Unbelievable difference. Although we wasted our time at Hansel we should thank them for driving us away.

Timmons provided me with a written quote to purchase my car for $1,975. When I returned 5 days later, they refused to honor their quote. They stated there were mechanical issues but they were not able to provide any details as to what those issues were. In the five days since receiving the quote, the car was not driven except to drive to the dealership. They said that could only offer me $1,500. I had turned down three other offers for $1,500 from dealers much closer to my home because I believed (wrongly) that Timmons would buy my car for $1,975. When I complained, their attitude became very cold and hostile. I was told that they did not need my car and that I could take it or leave it in regard to their revised offer. They then kept me waiting for 2.5 hours before completing the paperwork. I am a senior citizen and it would not surprise me if their standard MO is to take advantage of seniors.
