Everything was pretty easy to get the deal done. Salesperson was knowledgeable and willing to see what kind of deals or specials he could find for me during the financing of the vehicle that I purchased. The sales manager was able to find me a very low interest rate for my loan. I've had follow-up calls from the salesperson to see how things were going. I ended up with a very good car at a decent price and would recommend them to family and friends.

My family needed a second family vehicle. Checking on Autotraders website, I found a great deal on a used vehicle priced fair, with great pictures detailing the car. I contacted Thys online, and they got back to me within half an hour. I live in Cedar Rapids, and the dealership location was in Belle Plaine. I made arrangements to test drive and inspect the vehicle the same day. I let Josh, the salesperson, know that I had to discuss the vehicle with my wife before committing. He contacted me the following afternoon to follow up on my family's decision. We decided to purchase the vehicle, and made a small deposit over the phone, and made arrangements to pick the car up on the weekend. All my questions were answered in a timely fashion, there was no upselling of packages or warranties or any other time wasting things. On arrival to pay for and pick up the vehicle, my family was there ten minutes. It was not a rushed 'get out of our store' 10 minutes, it was a respectful pleasant purchase.
This is the second used vehicle that I have purchased from Thys, and both times have been amazing. It is well worth the time to drive a little ways out of town for the speed and quality of service, and my total time between the two trips for this vehicle, including travel, was less than the time I've had wasted by bigger dealerships in Cedar Rapids or Iowa City. I was glad the car was finally repaired, but there was NO WAY they road tested the car after the first attempt to repair it. I was contacted the repair was done and had to get the loaner back, which was a day before the day we were originally were told the repairs would be done. The car drove HORRIBLE. I took the car back immediately and was asked if they could give me a ride home that they didn’t have a loaner. It just seemed they were more interested in getting their loaner vehicle back than taking the time to correctly repair my vehicle the first time. It did get repaired on the second attempt. My salesman, John, apologized over and over. I am glad it was repaired, but wasn’t a good experience.

I’ve test drove many vehicles in my life without having a sales person with me and I have allowed many sales people to drive my vehicle without me in the vehicle as well.
One thing is certain and that is if trust is really an issue then I certainly would not want to spend thousands of dollars at that dealership

I can’t believe how much I was lied too and screwed over. I believe the agent is no longer working there. I was told that the vehicle had the options which I asked for was on the vehicle, stupid of me to trust a salesman in the first place as they never have your best interest at heart, turned out the features were not there.
My vehicle wasn’t operating correctly, they wouldn’t listen to me. Almost a year and a half later they finally tell me that I was correct and they were in error. There’s no way for me to get out of this mess. Guess I’ll be stuck and not happy for several years to come. If I could just have the option of making this right, it would be a huge burden off my chest, it’s made me sick inside. I miss the simple small dealerships outside of the city. I need a miracle, and that’s not going to happen. I’m no more than a number, and not a person which is so disheartening.

Bought a truck from this dealership used. Salesman and finance guy was great. However I now own a truck that is a paper weight. Got about 500 miles on it and now it needs a engine. Truck looks to have been serviced before I purchased. Oil change sticker and new filters etc. Current ford dealer ship tearing down engine as looks like whoever last serviced it left there tools behind. Definitely proceed with caution on anything used here or get some kind of guarantee.

They made an offer that was less than I was comfortable with and when we couldn't make a deal, they told me that if I changed my mind in the next couple of days, the offer would be waiting for me. I called them back less than 2 hours later to accept the offer and they said they were no longer interested in my truck. Horrible way to do business!!

Called Kruger Auto in Waverly Iowa and $0 added to a new TRX RAM Truck. I went to UNI 25 years ago and Dan Deery had an "iffy" reputation then and I see they have not changed at all! Waste of time and not worth going there is they are going to do the good ole bait and switch on clients! With this said, my sales guy was very nice but I wish he had told me about the +$10,000 over MSRP before I wasted 90 minutes! REDICULOUS!

My wife and I were looking for a minivan a few years ago. When we walked on the lot we were ignored by the staff. We decided to go elsewhere after being left on the lot for about a half hour. Just recently I decided to give them another chance. I wanted to order a new truck. I walked into the dealership and I sat down with a sales person while another person took my truck for a ride so they could give me my trade value. It took close to a month to get a text from the sales person saying they were still working on my trade. It took me one day to get my trade value from another dealer. The level of service is horrible. Not just one bad experience but to have it happened twice? I would not recommend this dealership to anyone.

We have been a Cadillac family for decades and currently have two Caddy’s in our garage not including the new one we just purchased. It appears that Vaughn Automotive Cadillac in Iowa has a significant amount of incompetent or lazy staff, with E-mails not returned by various staff, telephone calls not returned and an arrogant and lazy finance person. The only bright spot was a salesman, Jacob, who did a good job representing the dealership. We purchased and immediately wired 65K for a new Cadillac XT6 to Vaughn Automotive in Iowa and they held our monies hostage literally due to their incompetence for days. Vaughn staff sent paperwork to us, the customer, for a salvage title in the wrong State for a brand new Cadillac. Sweet! Financial data was wrong and their staffer was not interested in determining why when we informed them. He literally refused to figure out what was wrong. Customer finally took a portion of the money back and did title, tags, registration and paid taxes ourselves in our State. Dealer then inappropriately called our auto carrier in New York without our knowledge and canceled the pick up because they did not have their paperwork in order - even though they were fully paid and we had a new title in our State which was shocking. We paid the auto carrier and they placed us in default of our contact with the carrier. In the end, our financial numbers were correct and the dealership wrong as we informed them. As customers hundreds of miles away, we dealt by E-mail and documented all of the above, which is not all of the problems we had with Vaughn Automotive. We plan to contact Cadillac corporate. Vaughn has other on-line ratings similar to what we are submitting - and you had better believe it is was a disappointing and arrogant experience. We wish we had never heard of Vaughn Automotive in Iowa. I see that a Mr. VanNess at Vaughn is responding to review comments on this site - one of the people we wrote to who did nothing. That's precious.

Said it was probably the contacts, but couldn't look at it then, still OK to drive.....well, I ended up needing a new engine as that one apparently didn't run too well WITHOUT getting oil. :(

Went in for an oil change and tire patch on 1-10-18 is how this nightmare begins. After waiting two and a half hours I get my car back with my painted rim all beat up. Six of the ten spokes had chipped paint and the edge of the rim was chewed up from the tire machine. They ordered me a new rim, the color was off badly. I suggested i know someone who paints they said no. So at this point for $200 this problem could have been fixed. The service manager "Danny" tells me thats all they are going to do its now my problem. If i wasnt happy, and why should i be, i could talk to "Mike" at the south location. This guy took a week to get back to me only to tell me Chrysler isnt getting back to him and I should call them. So i do his job for him and call, had no problems getting someone. They tell me im not a dealer etc etc which took 10 mins. I get them a quote to have the rim painted, that Mike ASKED for mind you. Instead they used their "Wheel Guy" that all of a sudden appeared out of nowhere over a MONTH later to paint the rim. The rim looked like it was sprayed with rattle cans and the color was completely off. I told Mike it looked great and never went back. I am having the rim done at MY expense so I can once again have 4 rims that match. This process was long and exhausting and in the end, they did win. The simplest of car maintenance this place managed to foul up completely. Way to lose a customer and risk your reputation for a $200 fix. Well done. If I could rate them no stars i would. Bottom line go somewhere else, anywhere else.
